Alan Arkin as Yossarian provides the film with its continuity and dominant style. "It is really Ryan O'Neil and Ali MacGraw who make the movie succeed, it's their tenderness and charm that turn 'LOVE STORY' into a life story." REX REED, HOLIDAY MAGAZINE 'LOVE STORY' is probably as sophisti letting him trim your bangs'. mi wi ANGIIII an ple because no one ever comes to see them. Old people are still humans. In China old people are respected; in our country old people are rejected and neglected. Our elderly have contributed more good than they are being rewarded for.

I hope that more people think twice before disown-' dng their parents. If you visit your parents every two weeks it keeps them looking forward to something. I have seen old people whose sons and daughters will send their parents a card and then forget about them for another six months. These people often live right around the corner from where their parents are. So please do not neglect the elders of our society.

They have given us too much to throw away. MYSELF Chatters I wonder how many of you ever stop and think about how lonely it is to be old. I not only think about it, I see it- I am a teenager who works as a nurse's aide at a very good nursing home. My biggest heartbreak is how educated people put their parents in nursing homes, then forget them. I have absolutely nothing against nursing homes; most of them are pretty good.

But how can some people just disown their parents when just because of their old age they become senile? Whether the (sons and. daughters know it or not, senile people have not lost their feelings and they can be hurt by lack of love. I can truly say that I have met some of the nicest people I will ever meet at my nursing home. I have also seen some of the most heart-broken peo cated as any commercial American movie ever made! It is beautiful and romantic! i. b4 "LOVE STORY" "A LOVELY WAY TO SPEND AN EVENING!" 'LOVE STORY' has 4 possible Oscar nominations.

It will be a long, hard road for you, but one that you'll remember with fond memories. My mother was faced with a similar situation two years ago. My sister became ill and had to be hospitalized. When she went into the hospital we didn't know for sure if she'd ever come out again and be able to care for her three young children who ranged in age from 10 to 5 to 1. My mother has three boys of her own at home so the chore was doubled.

Luckily my sister came out of the hospital and resumed her role after a prolonged illness. Although my mother's chore was only a short one compared to the one that lies before you, it was a difficult one. Things will be hard for you at times, but you'll adjust. You'll have good times and you'll have bad times, bUt you'll get by. You must be a very special person to undertake such a task.

262-6820 heed Mil to Love Procuceo-wnitn-D recvd Narrated by DRS. EBERHARD I PHYLLIS KRONHAUSEN VI- my baby had been. In fact I was so "out of it" that I decided against nursing her and took, shots 40 dry up the milk. Later I regretted this decision greatly, but by then it was too late. Please, tell other, prospective mothers that Caesarean section should' be considered a last resort.

Maybe it's not "unbearable," but it's hardly medicine's gift to women. S.M. DEAR MRS. Certainly normal labor is pref erable to Caesarean section in most cases. Nevertheless, I think you owe your obstetrician a pat on the back for not prolonging your "test of labor" beyond the limits of safety.

No doctor worthy of the name will rush an expectr ant mother into Caesarean surgery simply because he thinks it will "make things easy." Hence, his decision in your behalf was no doubt a wise one, carefully calculated. As you imply, however; a Caesarean is considered major surgery, and those who anticipate such an operation should plan on a' few days of recuperation. A certain amount of discomfort, yes, but not real misery in most cases. At times it is absolutely essential to preserve life that of the mother, baby, or both. In such cases Caesarean birth is truly "medicine's gift to women" and to mankind.

DEAR DR. CURTIS: I am writing to urge that you warn' other women not to make the mistake I did. Several months before my baby was due, the doctor said he might possibly have to deliver it by Caesarean section because I am so short (5 foot 2) and have a funnel pelvis. I was simply delighted by the idea no hard labor, just a few whiffs of gas, then wake up and it's all over. Too bad b'o can't babies this way.

That's what I thought! When my baby finally started to come, I told the doctor to go right ahead, with the surgery, but he let my labor continue for about three hours (strong, contractions, but not bad)-to see if I could deliver normally. I kept insisting I wanted a Caesarean, though, and finally he gave in. Believe me, I could hardly wait for the operation, but now I wish the "test of labor" had been longer and that the delivery had been a natural one. It might have been hard for a few hours, because the baby weighed almost nine pounds, but I'd have been lots better off in the long run. The first few days after my Caesarean were abso-lutely miserable.

I didn't even realize what a marvelous event the birth of Chatters I would appreciate hearing from people who have had a bathtub that needs refinishing. Is there a paint or spray-paint that is successful? Miss BOC Chatters Could anyone reveal the secret of attaching a fake garland to a stone fireplace? Tape won't stick and I don't want to drive any nails into the brick. Bravit A Washington Bureau. A United Nations Bureau. A "ew York Bureau.
