Billy Willson, the well known mining man from Silver City, is looking after business inetrests in the southwestern metropolis today. A. B. Urmston, owner of the famous San Pedro ranch in Mexico, who has been spending several days in El Paso, returned to his ranch this morning. A.

C. Davis who has been working on the Worley Paso directory left this morning for Bisbee, Arizona, wher he has a position with the Copper Queen Mining company. H. G. Ross, the well known contractor and mine owner, is home from Kansas City.

Mr. Ross i is greatly improved in healtu and his friends are glad to see him back. County Attorney A. S. J.

Eylar and lEd Tenney returned last night they from have San Jose, Mexico, where been on a short hunting trip. They killed about fifty ducks. W. R. Ascarate, who was elected for representative of the counties of Dona Grant and Otero in New Mexico, left this morning on the Sierra Madre line for his cattle ranch near Janos.

Joseph Loving, son of George B. Loving, the big cattle man, is in El Paso shaking hands with old friends. Joe was a resident of this town about ten years ago. He is now connected with a big cattle company in San Antonio. AT THE HOTELS PERSONALS.

Japanese Wedding--Chopin Hall, Nov. 23. Exact Statement At the council meeting last evening Badger, of the City Street Improvement committee, reported that the cement sidewalk and curb being built on Buckler square by Mr. Holtzman, the contractor, was not being put in according to specifications, viz: The specifications calling for 4 inch concrete foundation and inch coping, were only 3 inches of concrete was being put in and inch coping, making in all 3 and inches in thickness when it should be inches. The curb also was not being put in according to specification an the specifications call for a curb 8 inches thick on top and 18 inches deep and faced of an inch in thickness 10 inches down with a one to one mixture wheras the first section of curb put in is only ten inches wide at he base and has a common plaster facing not of an inch in thickness.

Further the top or dressing coat is provided to be mixed one part clean sharp sand to one part cement and upon inspection it was found to be mixed two parts sand to one part cement. In fact the work was being done without regard to specifications. Gabriel Billegas, aged 18, died at the family residence on South Stanton street yesterday morning. The funeral was held today at 2 p. after which the body was interred in Con(cordia cemetery.

14-Our election went off very nicely, no disturbances of any kind. This precinct went democratic. C. C. Hagen of Gold Camp has just sold the Oriental mine to eastern people, the price paid was a good one, but is kept secret.

The purchasers propose to work the property extensively and will begin operations as soon as all the papers are fixed up, possibly in about three weeks. The Torpedo has all of the water out of the south shaft and is now pushing work on the lower level. This mine will shortly be avery heavy shipper again. John C. Thompson and Miss Hattie Cowan were united in marriage Tuesday by our justice of the peace, W.

C. Weir. They have the best wishes of our people. They will make this place their home. Justice of the peace Weir did a land office business in weddings on Tuesday.

Mr. George Leisering and Miss Ruffe Brazel were also joined in the happy bonds of matrimony on that day. Come early and often and it will suit Justice Weir. Our town now has three stores and three saloons. M.

C. Logan having finished his building and opened his store last week. A. B. Cowan is erecting an adobe residence near the plaza which is nearing completion, and will be a fine addition to our town.

There are many rumors current here of companies coming in and opening up other valuable properties in this camp. Also of the railroad which is sure to come this year.
