Belmont Ver Standig, 57-- headed Wellington jewel firm Associated Press setts, Rhode Island, and Greer, S.C. WASHINGTON M. Funeral services Belmont Ver Standig, 57, founder and president of Ver Standig the chain of Wellington jewel stores in the United States and Canda, died yesterday his Washington home. Death was caused by an aneurysm.

At one time he operated an advertising agency in Washington but gave up the business in the early 1960s because of ill health. Later he founded the Wellington jewel stores marketing the Wellington counterfeit diamond. He also owned the Smuggler's Beach Motor Lodge at Cape Cod, Mass. A native of Boston, he worked for a time as a newsboy and later edited and published weekly newspapers in Massachu- Arthur Rath Retired consultant A memorial service for Arthur A. Rath, co-founder of Rath Strong a management consulting firm based in Boston, will be held Friday at 2 p.m.

in St. George's Episcopal Church, Varrell Lane, York Beach, Maine. Mr. Rath, 80, died April 19 in Daytona, where he maintained a winter residence, after a brief illness. Mr.

Rath served as Rath Strong's first president from 1935 to 1956 and then as the firm's chairman until his retirement in 1962. He continued to serve as an adviser to the company until 1967. Under his guidance, Rath Strong became one of the larger New England-based management consulting firms. Born in Flint, Mr. Rath attended Michigan State College and was a World War I veteran.

He was active in the Society for the Advancement of Management and other professional organizations. During his long business career, he served as Rath Strong's representative to the Association of Management Consulting Engineers and to the Chamber of Commerce and Associated Industries of Massachusetts. He was a member of the Charles River Country Club, the Worcester Country Club and the Winchester Country Club. A former resident of Winchester, Mr. Rath moved to York, Maine, after his retirement.

He leaves two soss, Donald of Maine and Douglas S. of New Hampshire. Woman killed in Revere crash An East Boston woman was killed and two persons seriously injured when their automobile struck a tree on Revere Beach parkway, near Winthrop Revere, at 2:30 a.m. today. Jeanne K.
