Boham Uses Six-Iron To Ace 7th at Pioneers While neighborhood kids are wondering when they'll get enough snow to use their Christmas sleds, guys like Roy Boham keep knocking on wood that it'll be no go' for snow. When Boham stepped to the seventh hole at Pioneers Golf Course Thursday, he opted for knocking on iron or with an iron instead of on wood, and found the results much more pleasing. His selection of a six-iron was just as perfect as the 51 degree temperature as the shot settled into the cup for a hole-in-one. According to Pioneers golf pro Tim Nelson, Boham's feat was the first of its kind for at least seven on January 22. Boham was one of just 19 players taking advantage of the warm, unseasonable weather.

While Boham used a six- iron, in the past seven years it would have taken black golf balls, a shovel and ice pick to find the hole in the ice and snow. In the future when Boham wants results, he'll probably bypass knocking on wood and use the iron. Nebraska Today Friday, January 23,1976 Lincoln, Neb. (800)742-7315 Teachers Won't Be Rehired Scottsbluff (UPI) The Western Technical Community College area board, faced with enrolment drops on the Scottsbluff and Sidney campuses, has decided not to rehire seven instructors for the 1976-77 school year.

In addition, the board delayed action on several programs proposed by Nebraska Western College at Scottsbluff for the fall semester. Included was a computer science proposal that Charles Bensman, campus president, said is critical as far as the institution's future success is concerned. However, the board was hesitant about committing itself to buying a $53,000 computer un- less there was some assurance the course would draw students and ultimately the new equipment would be paid for. Areas at Nebraska Western and Western Nebraska Technical Community College at Sidney recording lower enrolments were courses in auto body, aviation and heavy equipment. Another proposal that was shelved for the time being, pending additional study, was a pre- i a i a Scottsbluff.

Bensman had suggested setting up a sequence of courses that would satisfy two years' study requirement, of 67 hours, of the 96 hours required to make application for pre-veterinary study at the University of Nebraska or Colorado State University. Tax Case Plea No Contest Omaha (AP) Entertainer Johnny Ray Gomez pleaded no contest Thursday in U.S. District Court to evading more than $2,600 in income tax. Judge Albert Schatz deferred sentencing after accepting Gomez's plea. Gomez could receive five years imprisonment, a fine or both.

Gomez did not wait to be indicted by a grand jury before entering his plea to one count of a three- count charge. That count alleged Gomez stated his taxable income for 1972 as $8,628 and paid $1,518, when in fact his income was $20,034 on which he should have paid taxes totaling $4,138. Two other counts were dismissed by Schatz after he- accepted Gomez's plea. Those counts accused Gomez of evading taxes in 1970 and 1971. In those counts, the government alleged Gomez understated his income by more than $18,000 and underpaid his taxes by nearly $3,700.

Gomez, an accordionist, heads the Johnnie Ray Gomez Review which has been featured in area night clubs. Looking for carefree transportation? 11 New and Larger Store ELECTRIC SHAVER SERVICE Shaver sales, service Appliance repair The easy way reduce your taxable income by $1,500. And save for your retirement at the same time. Even after you promised yourself it wouldn't happen again, it probably is. You're starting to let another year slip by without setting aside tax deductible money in an Individual Retirement (IRA) account like you said you would. So here's the easy way to keep that promise to yourself and feel a whole lot better next year and for years to come.

If you're not participating in an approved pension or profit sharing plan, you can make monthly deposits totaling $1,500 annually (or of your earned income, whichever is less) into a First National Lincoln Individual Retirement Account. If both you and your spouse work, you can each start an IRA. Your monthly deposits will earn the highest rate of bank interest allowed by law. So your monthly deposits earn the same rate of interest you'd receive on a single deposit of $1,500. Plus, your monthly deposits start earning interest from date of deposit.

At First National there are no set up costs no maintenance fees. So you save some money right off the bat. You'll save money with tax advantages, too. The money you deposit in your IRA is fully deductible from your gross earnings on your Federal income tax return. You don't pay any income tax on that money, or the interest it earns, until the funds are withdrawn.

When you do withdraw your money, it'll be taxed as regular income. But, because you'll be retired, you'll more than likely be in a substantially lower income tax bracket. So you'll probably end up paying less income tax. And that means you're going to be a lot happier. For complete details stop in or call any of our three handy locations-or fill out and mail the coupon.

Do it today so that by the end of the year you'll have the money set aside for deduction on your 1976 income tax return. Promise yourself you'll do it. It's a promise you'll be glad to keep year after year. Because It'll help you make the most of what you've got FIRST NATIONAL LINCOLN 13th 13th 56th 0 MAIL TO: IRA First National Lincoln Box81008 Lincoln, NE 68501 Member. F.D.I.C.
