33 Fr Coughlin Calls Liberal Priests Advocates of Riot Auoclatrd Press ops and "loud-mouthed clerical advocates of arson, riot and draft card burning," in his first pamphlet published in 26 years. Fr. Coughlin also accused his superior, Roman Catholic Abp. John F. Dearden of Detroit, of "under the table approval" of dissident priests whose aime is to "upset Pope Paul." Abp.

Dearden, president of the National Conference of Catholic Bishops, had no immediate comment. "Bishops must assume the major responsibility for the moral predicament in which the members of the Catholic Church find themselves," Fr. Coughlin wrote in a 54-page pamphlet entitled "Helmet and Sword." The pamphlet was released Tuesday. He also attacked churchmen who have criticized the church ban on artificial birth control.
