CARD OF THANKS Business Failures Continue Low Although a little higher than in the previous week, commercial and industrial failures in the week ending Apri 4 were not as numerous as in the comparable week of last year, reports Dun Bradstreet, Inc. Nineteen concerns failed, as compared with 18 a week ago and 23 in the corresponding week of last year. In a 12-week period this was the third time and the second consecutive week in which concerns failing have fallen below the 1945 level. Two-thirds of the week's failures involved liabilities of $5000 or more-Concerns failing in this group increased from 10 a week ago to 13 in the week just ending and exceeded the nine occurring in the same week of last year. On the other hand, small failures with losses under $5000 were only down lightly from a week ago.

With strikes, uncertainties regarding prices and materials and parts supplies, he asserts, "it's going to be tough." Biggest immediate problem is the supply of bodies which require large amounts of sheet steel. In the 12 years Klingler has headed the Pontiac division his assembly lines have turned out more than 1,000,000 passenger vehicles; 330,000 of them were made in 1941, last full year of pre-war production.
