Boston Latin staved off a desperate last minute East Boston rally on windswept Braves Field yesterday afternoon and thereby handed the Noddle Islanders their second straight defeat by a 6-0 score. Following Latin's final period touchdown the fighting Eastie team drove 60 yards but was ultimately held for downs on the Latin two-yard stripe on the last play of the contest. In the other half of a double-header, an aggressive English High team throttled B. C. High's offensive maneuvers and chalked up a decisive 14-0 verdict 'over the Eaglets.

Before sending his squad out "it" for its first scrimmage in two weeks, Coach Earl Blaik said today that he would alternate two comparatively light backs, Elwyn (Ripper) Rowan and Bill "West of Winchester, in place of the injured Ilerschel Fuson. Army, despite a more or less drab showing against West Virginia last Saturday, retained a comfortable margin over the second-place Notre Dame team, which likewise was not too impressive in its game with Navy.
