(UPI)Shirley Jackson, 46, known author of mystery stories and children's books, died at her home Sunday, apparently from a heart attack. In private life she was the wife of Stanley E. Hyman, a member the Bennington College faculty.

She also left four children and her parents. In accordance with her wishes, funeral services will be omitted. A native of San Francisco, she began her writing career 1948 with publication of "The Road Through the Wall." More recently she won critical acclaim for "The Bird's "The Sun Dial," "The Haunting of Hill House" and "We Have Always Lived in the Castle." The later reportedly will be staged soon on Broadway. She perhaps was 1 best known for a short story, "The Lottery," which first appeared i in the New Yorker magazine and John Watson Boston Accountant Services for John Watson, 50, of 60 Old Morton Dorchester, will be held Wednesat 2 p.m. at the John G.

He was a member of the First Methodist Church of Dorchester, serving for many years as fiancial secretary and as a trustee. He leaves his wife, Florence; two sons, Alan and Robert; a daughter Ruth, and a sister, Mrs.
