In every section of the field wells are quickly going down. Rigs are going up on almost every tract.

Prosperity is seen in all directions. This is partly due to the dry period being broken by recent rains. During the months of August and Root, Hupp and Duff have a number of promising test in the Eastland field. These parties have found it more to their liking to go out into wildcat territory and bring in large gushers. The Perkins gusher was brought in by them a number of months ago proving a vast amount of territory looked upon by many operators as being wildcat territory.

This gusher, which was afterwards to the September it was necessary to shut has dwiadled down to 288 barrels a down many wells after the water supply became exhausted. In an attempt to make up for lost time operators are now speeding the work of drilling. The Hueco-Ranger Oil company is drilling at a depth of fino feet in its No. 2 on the S. nolleman tract.

The first well brought in on the tract is a joint operation with the Hercules Oil company, and is flowing 400 barrels of oil daily from a sand encountered at a depth of 1895 feet. El Pnwo-Rnnser In. The El Paso-Ranger Oil company Is spudding in on the Watson tract, in the northwest corner of the field. The Texolean Oil company has a shallow gasser on the Sneed tract, which is making 60,000.000 cubic feet of gas daily. This gas production has been purchased by the Texas company's production which expects to run it into a six inch line now in the process of laid to Moran, a distance of 15 miles.

A showing of oil in the black lime has been discovered In the Root, Hupp and Duff's test on the J. M. Rav- Connellee lease. The 10 Inch casing is being pulled at 3510 feet. The North, American company is drilling at a denth of 1450 feet in an offset to the Root, Hupp and Duff test on this tract.

On the W. H. Ray tract, the States Oil corporation, is setting up a rig and the Parrack company a production nf 40 barrels of oil from day. The well will be packed and a four inch casing will be set. On the same tract the Porter-Werta No.

2, is making 1700 barrels from a depth of 3522 feet; the No. 3 is drilling at 3500 feet: the No. 4 is drilling at 2950 feet and the No. 5 is shut down at 2020 feet. On this tract, on the portion retained by Root.

Hupp and Duff, the NTo. 1 hole is being straightened: the No. 2 is drilling at 3100 feet; the No. 3 is drilling at 1100 feet, and the rig at the No. 4 will be skidded.

Pig Wells Flowinfr. West of this tract these men have nf Poteet tract. The No. 1 is making 1235 barrels of oil and the No. 4 is flowing 1S20 barrels.

The No. 2 is a gasser, the No. 3 is drillin'? at a denth of 2150 feet. No. 5 drilling at 800 feet, No.

6 is drilling at 1950 feet. Nos. 7 and 8 are Nos. 9 and 12 are building rigs. No.

10 has lumber on No 11 a South of the Poteet tract, the States Oil corporation is drilling at a depth of 2290 feet, in its No. 1, on the H. C. Ernest tract. On the E.

This well is situated in the northeast quarter of section 16-28-9. The third completion of John Markham, and associates, in the northwest quarter of section 17-20-7, Jennings district, is making 20 barrels of oil daily. In Kay county the Maryland Refining company has a showing for a good well in an initial test on the J. A. Coleman land in the northeast ouarter of section 35-2S-3, Newkirk district.

The Carter Oil company has a 250 barrel producer in section 5-2s-10w, Keys field. Owing to the heavy rains of the past few days, work in the Keys field has been greatly hindered. A number of wells are rapidly ap- nroaching the big pay and within the next few days should come in as producers. are practically impassable, and it is difficult to get materials to locations. On the Pleasant Grove Church lot, the No.

Three miles southeast of Eastland, the Arkansas Natural Gas is getting 4,000,000 cubic feet of gas, and 15 barrels of oil, from its No. 1, on the C. U. Connellee tract. The No.

2 has increased Its flow from 180 to 300 barrels with indications of a greater increase in production. This test is also making; 5.000,000 cubic feet of gas. The No. 3 is drilling- at 1000 feet, and the No. 4 at 600 feet.

Sullivan and associates are rigging iiip on the Down tain tract, a mile and i a half southeast of Eastland. The No. 1, T. Y. Butler, of the States Oil corporation, has been plugged back and is making a daily production of 350 barrels from the upper pay sand.

The Duke-Burk Oil company has a rig up oh the Barber tract and the Kentucky River Oil comnany is drilling on this tract at a depth of 1150 feet.

Travers and associates have a 25,000,000 cubic foot gasser on the Harrell tract. On this same tract the Rancrer-Texas Oil company has a 80.000,000 cubic foot jrasser, the production of which it is running into the Texas company's gas production department. Producing 35.000 Barrels. The Gulf Production well on the Calvin-Perklns traf't is producing 3500 barrels of oil daily at a depth of 3450 feet. This companv has another producer on the tract: this well is making 400 barrels of oil from the black lime and is drilling at 3415 feet.

The operators are hastening the building of the new rig for the No. 3, which came in with a daily production of 2000 barrels at 3007 feet and caurht fire. After, burning for 18 hours the fire was ex- tinauished but the rig was completely demolished. On the Tobe Martin tract the States Oil corporation has a fishing at a depth of 3691 feet. The well is producing 100 barrels nf oil from the upper nay.

On the Babbs tract, south of the Tobe Martin this company is drilling a test at a depth of 3 ft The Teras Crude Oil company has emnorarily abandoned its well on the Olden schoolhouse lot at a depth of 1400 feet. Union Refining and Pipe Line companv has enlarged the capacity of its refinery at Oil City, from 300 to 1200 barrels daily at a cost of $200,000. The company is planning to increase the new capacity to 3000 barrels during the next three months.

The plant will handle the crude of Pine Island, taking on light oil at a later date. This plant will be ready for Its first run within the week. This company has purchased a site for a refinery at Homer in Claiborne Parish, La. This refinery will cost the company approximately $300,000 and will have an Initial capacity of 3000 barrels daily. Recently 200 tanks were purchased by this concern.

FORT PHANTOM HILL CO. ABANDONS ABILENE TEST! Abilene, Oct. Fort. Phantom Hill Oil well ifc, miles north of Abilene is an abandonment. The drillers are pulling the casing after striking a salt water flow at 2110 feet.

The No, 1, which was drilled before the No. 2, was abandoned at a depth of 1603 on account of a collapsed casing. The operators of this company do not believe that there is not a prospect of getting a producer in this vicinity, but that the prospects are good. However, It will make no further test at present this vicinity because It considers the $135,000 spent on sinking these two test, sufficient.
