One target area of the raids, which pilots described as highly successful, was three miles from the center of Hanoi the other was in the dock area of two miles from the heart of that major port. The Russians, the first of the Communist bloc to react, denounced the attacks, which were closer by several miles than any previous raids in the areas of the two cities. Radio Moscow called it a "new and dangerous step by the U.S. ruling circles in expanding aggression against the Vietnamese people." British Prime Minister Harold Wilson, who has been backing American operations in Viet Nam over some parliamentary opposition, expressed regret at the raids and said: "We have made it clear on many occasions that we cannot support an extension of the bombings to such areas." CRISIS Page 26 The Boston Globe announced today that it had agreed with Kaiser Broadcasting Corporation, ject to Federal Communications Commission approval, to acquire a 50 percent interest in WXHR-TV (Channel 56) and in radio stations WXHR AM and FM.

The TV- station, an ultra high frequency facility (UHF), will cover the Greater Boston Trading area. McNAMARA POINTS TO OIL STORAGE AREA BLASTED NEAR HAIPHONG (AP) These properties would be operated by a separate corporation now in process of organization. Two weeks ago Kaiser Broadcasting announced that 5t had acquired WXHR AM-fFM and TV from Harvey Ra-' dio Laboratories, of Cambridge. Radio station WXHR AM and FM are currently operating in the Boston area. Channel 56 was on the air for three years prior to 1956 when it suspended broadcasting.

It is contemplated that the TV Channel will be back on the air this broadcasting from new and modern facilities. The Greater Boston area is Kaiser Broadcasting's fifth major TV market and second important radio market. The company owns and operates WKBD TV, Detroit; WKBS TV, Philadelphia, and KMTW TV, in Los Angeles. It is also in the process of acquiring equipment for KHJK TV, San Francisco, for which it holds a construction permit. The company's radio station is KFOG-FM in San Francisco.

Silverman's 3-2 victory left little doubt of the magic powers of alchemy behind the Kennedy name. 1IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIMIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII there is no longer any reason why the United States should not and every reason why it should put Haiphong out of business. This can be done quite simply by, blowing up Haiphong's oil storage and port facilities. A less noisy and more acceptable method, because it would spare civilian lives, would be to mine the harbor and serve notice that Haiphong was no longer safe for shipping.
