(Moakley) Mahoney, 93, of 164 South died Tuesday in the Fairlawn Nursing Home, Lexington. Born in Lexington, Mrs. Mahoney was active in charitable and church work. She and her late husband, P. H.

Mahoney, donated the altar in St Mary's Church here. A high Mass of requiem will be offered at 10 a.m. in St Mary's Church. Burial will follow in St. Francij Cemetery, South Walpole.

Harry Denning WAKEFIELD Harry Denning, 72, of 31 Overlake former chairman of the Congregation Ahavis Achim Wakefield Board of Selectmen Anshe Sfard in Chelsea, died Tuesday at Beth Israel Hospital after a lengthy illness. The story con 6en William Blanchard, 50, Boston-born career man whose military brilliance skyrocketed him to Air Force vice chief of etaff, died Tuesday shortly after being stricken with a heart attack at the Pentagon in Arlington, Va, Gen Blanchard was taken to an Army dispensary in the Pentagon after what physicians termed a "massive heart attack." He died without retaining consciousness. He was the second ranking efficer in the Air Force and his gallantry in numerous combat engagements earned him many military honors. Gen Blanchard, in his youth, was football captain at Chelsea High School and later starred in football and hockey at West Point. He was the son of Dr.

H. Blanchard, a former surgeon at the Chelsea Soldiers Home. It was from Chelsea, where he made his home, that he was appointed to West Point in 1934. He graduated from West Point in 1938, and had been on military duty ever since. He commanded the 40th Bombardment Group in World War II and later became deputy commander of the 58th Bombardment Wing in the China-Burma-India Theatre of Operations.

After the war, Gen Blanchard commanded many vital 'Air Force units and rapidly moved up the military ladder to the No. 2 post. Only recently he was interviewed by Globe Military Editor Nat L.
