George Sanders, the "father" of one of the boys the leader of the group, in fact tries to understand them and become their friend.

Eventually he must make a serious decision if the children are to be foiled in their determination to take over the world. The final intimation in the picture is that we may expect more visitations irom an unknown planet but nobody knows for sure. The picture is an excellent chiller-thriller, and the fact Ithat the dialogue is serious enough so the story sounds as if it could happen in reality makes "Village of the 'Dammed" one of the more ef- Reruns at the Met Two rereleased films will open a short engagment at the Metropolitan Theater Friday. Barbara Shelley is pretty as the unhappy mother of an inhuman baby and Martin Stephens gives a remarkably strong portrayal of a child villain, who sneers at human emotions. Collins has officially declared Saturday as "Comedie Francaise Day" as a welcome and tribute to the famed French company making its Boston debut this week-end at the John Hancock Hall, under Cambridge Drama Fes tival auspices.
