11 Junior fullback Ralph Ferrisi of Weymouth scored two touch. downs and picked up 134 yards on the grounn today to leaa Southern Connecticut State, 23 to 0, over Northeastern University. It was the sixth victory la eight games for Southern CL The six-foot, 215-pounder raised his season's total to 56 points, placing high among the leading N.E. scorers. Southern with one more game to go against ALL, scored a safety and touchdown in the opening quarter and added single tallies in the sec ond and fourth periods.

Northeastern's only threat came in the third quarter when it drove to Southern 20-yard line but was held on downs. Quarterback Jerry Varnum's pass to right halfback Tom Kelly for 36 yards featured the march. Southern Ct. opened the scoring in the first quarter when Ferrisi tackled Tom Kelly in the end zone for a safety. The Owls added a touchdown in that period as left halfback Tony Aceto went five yards off left tackle.

Van Nort scored three touchdowns while Deaett gained 82 yards rushing and intercepted two passes to stop scoring threats.

Trinity bow has a 4-2-1 record. Amherst, gaining its seventh victory, withstood three second-half drives. Deaett and Ted Kolman intercepted passes to stop each of the marches. Trinity managed one touchdown with a fourth-down pass from Don Taylor to Sam Winner. The visitors scored again late in the second half when Amherst quarterback Mark Hallam was tackled in his own end zone frr a safety.

Amherst took the opening kickoff and marched 80 yards to a score with Van Nort and Deaett gaining 63 yards between them. A 14-yard pass from Hallam to John Hayden also helped the drive. Hallam completed 11 of 19 passes for 141 yards in the came, including Am herst's second touchdown, a 36 yard pass to Van Nort. The second score came on the first play from scrimmage in the second quarter after John Sabetta recovered a Taylor fumble. Later in the period, Sabetta intercepted a Taylor pass and set up Van Nort's third touchdown, a six-yard run.
