Alpert Lops Off 18 Providence To Hub Trains The New Haven Railroad rrotinues slashing local commuter and shopper passenger service on Monday, when the Boston-to Providence schedule will be cut by one-third. The Interstate Commerce Commission yesterday authorised dropping 18 of 58 local rassenger trains, two days after the Old Colony division died.
