0.4 28-A BOSTON SUNDAY GLOBE SUMMER PREVIEW VACATION SECTION 0 Cape Codders Geared for Season Bay State Offers Much for Its Own Residents Cape Codders are busy these days with final preparations for what promises to be one of the best Summer seasons this famous seashore resort has ever enjoyed. Along the many miles of white- beaches, beside the lakes and ponds and up and down the streets of the quaint little villages there is an unprecedented hum of activity that spells expansion for an ever growing population of those who love to vacation here. Massachusetts Vacationists Unable to Travel Far Have Wide Choice of Summer Resort Areas Residents of Massachusetts who are to travel long distances for their vacations are still fortunate in having a choice of eight primary Summer resort areas, boasting a variety of recreations, right within the bounds of their own Commonwealth. Fully aware of the attractions available here, the Massachusetts Development and Industrial Commission has embarked on a double-barreled campaign to "sell Massar.husetts" to its own people, as well as prospective vacationers from all over the United States. For the first time since 1941 there will be weekend sleepers between New York and the Cape. The night Cape Codder will be operated as an overnight weekend sleeper service between New York and Hyannis and Woods Hole.

The Cape-bound train will leave New York late Friday nights and arrive at Hyannis and Woods Hole early Saturday morning throughout the Summer. The returning train will leave Sunday night and reach New York early Monday morning. The Cape Codder also will be operated on a daily schedule as well as weekend. The famous Neptune will run between New York and this resort Friday through Sunday. Sailing Regattas Now that boat building has hit a normal prewar stride.

yachting. one of the Cape's major Summer sports. will occupy a record amount of attention from sailing devotees from Provincetown to Buzzards Bay. Among the larger regattas scheduled for this Summer are the Cotuit Yacht Clubs (New England Council Photo) activities for sailing shore waters of the New waters popu and inland resorts and that if employers will spread vacation schedules through the four months. the peak loads borne by resort areas during July and August will be eased.

Ample facilities for healthful outdoor exercise. miles of sandy beaches, and a myriad of lakes nestled in scenic hills and valleya are all found in Bay State. Those inclined toward active vacations discover unexcelled bathing and boating along the North and South Shores, Cape Cod. Martha4 Vineyard and Nantucket.
