The victory was the first in four stars.

In the same period that Pino's grand run was voided by a back in motion, Somerville lost another good opportunity to score when Joe O'Callaghan's 35-yard effort went for naught because of clipping. Somerville was set back 85 yards as a result of seven infractions. 6I? lk 4 T15' cl '1 Itis06 :i.10',,, itt-;) 4, (zi; .1 411 --te'' ''tx0 4, .4,,,,,,,:,.,.,.:.:.: 0 '-'034, 1. :4,:::, I 41. l'':" 4 4 r.r: .:,4 4,,..

BAY Staging a whirlwind finish, Brookline High scored two last quarter touchdowns yesterday afternoon to nip a fighting Waltham High eleven, 13-6, before 3500 at Tech Field, Brookline. The game was marked throughout by savage tackling and many roughing penalties. The Waltham club opened the scoring in the second period on Carmel lo Basile's one-yard slam through the Towners' Basile set up his touchdown when he heaved a 30-yard aerial to end Louis "Buddy' Wool on the 15. He set off the fireworks by hurling a 22-yard pass to Roy Latavour on the Chelsea 30. About to be tackled, Latavour lateralled to Frank Fotino, who ran to the 13.

Confalone went over in two tries. In this evenly waged battle. Chelsea had only one scoring chance. The Red Devils threatened in the second quarter, shortly before Wakefield registered six points. Unlike the Wakefield attempt, however, the Chelsea drive WPS stalled on the one-yard line, where the Wakefield line held to take the ball on downs.

Chelsea never again was in contention. While snapping their own irksing streak, Wakefield's conquest marked the Red Devils' third defeat in their last three games. Chelsea now has a record of two wins, one tie and three losses. Previous to this encounter, Wakefield managed to score only two points on a safety against Greenfield in five games. This lop-sided record belies the true strength of the Wakefield eleven in its first year under the guidance of coach Jim Walsh.
