Continued from the First Page The union has been working a year without a contract. The main features of the two contracts, as reported by a high union official are: Three year contract. A total of cents an hour spread this way: 5 cents retroactive to Jan.

1 1960; 3 more cents retroactive to last July 6 cents effective next Monday, and cents payable Jan. 1, 1962. In addition to this, there'd be another paid umbus Day--that be reholiday troactive, thus giving the carmen an additional $20. for Columbus Day, 1960. Also under this contract, supervisors and inspectors who are currently bargained for by the union would be taken out of the contract, and would bargain separately in the future.

Also the present Blue CrossBlue Shield benefits which now pay $12 a day would be raised to $20 a day on Jan. 1, 1960. The present costs of the group medical insurance which is split 75 percent paid by the union and 25 percent paid by management would remain unchanged. Two year contract: A total of cents spread out this way: cents retroactive to Jan. 1, 1960; 4 cents retroactive to July 1, 1960; cents effective Jan.

1, 1961 and 4 more cents on July 1, 1961. Under this plan Columbus Day would become a paid holiday in 1961. And under either plan the present cost-of-living increase proviso would be continued. There are certain other benefits. Park St.
