SULL1VAX For a long time Boston has needed another TV station, and tonight at 7 it begins operation on Channel 56. WTAO-TV's opening will be five minutes of news, followed by a sports telecast and a new scries featuring Frank Leahy, coach of Notre Dame's "Fighting Irish." Leahy's telecast will be followed at 7:45 by a film showing of the Notre Dame-Oklahoma game which was played yesterday. The station will present "Your Evening as the closing feature. The latter will comprise a film, "Long Voyage Home," starring John Wayne and Barry Fitzgerald. WTAO-TV is affiliated with the DuMont network and will eventually get shows from this source.

The station will be on daily from 5:30 'p. m. to 10:45 p. m. The transmitter is atop Mt.
