J. Kaiser Jr. Is Dead at 44, 111 a Long Time OAKLAND, May 3 (AP) Henry J. Kaiser younger son of the internationally known industrial- (bPl Telephotoi INDUSTRIALIST Henry J. Kaiser 44, dies in Oakland, Calif.

ist, died last night after an extended illness. He was 44. Henry J. Kaiser Sr. learned of his son's death immediately at the end of the first game of a baseball doubleheader in Honolulu.

He, his wife and their party left the stadium immediately. Henry Jr. was a vice president and director of Kaiser Industries Corp. and of many related companies of the multi-billion dollar Kaiser organization. He was an early champion of sharing the profits of automation with workers.

Kaiser called on labor and management to "wage a voluntary disarmament program against such weapons as the strike and the use of the bargaining table as a fight arena" in a talk to the Los'Angeles Rotary Club in March, 1960. He had been confined to a wheel chair several months and frequently had been in hospitals. He was named Oakland's outstanding citizen of 1960 for his many civic activities. But he was too ill to accept the award on Feb. 15 and his 8-year-old son, Henry J.

Kaiser 3d, accepted it in his father's name. Kaiser was born in Everett, Wash. He was graduated from Stanford University in 1940. In 1944, while he was in charge of the Kaiser-operated Denver and Fontana steel plants, he was stricken by a disease later diagnosed as multiple sclerosis. Kaiser had many civic, national and international interests.

He received the 1959 George Washington Honor Medal from the Valley Forge Freedoms Foundation. He was active in raising money for schools, and was vocal in urging Americans to help underdeveloped nations. Hairline Win Predicted for $1.25 Wae Bill WASHINGTON, May 3 (AP) Administration supporters predict a hairline victory in the House today for President Kennedy's minimum wage bill Senate passage is considered certain. The Senate votes first on the compromise legislation. House approval would send the meas ure to the white House.

The bill, a top priority item on Kennedy's 1961 legislative program, would raise the $1 an hour minimum wage to $1.25 by 1963 and bring 3.62 million more workers, mostly in retail stores, under the Wages and Hours Act. The compromise measure, on which Senate-House conferees completed their work Monday, eliminates some features the President wanted. But it is much closer to the administration backed bill passed 65 to 28 by the Senate last month than the chopped- dovn bill put through the House by Republicans and some Southern Democrats. The President lost the key House test originally 216 to 203. His backers have been working hard to reverse this.

Ex-Lynn Airman Dies in Germany In Auto Accident LYNN, May 3 Word has been received here of the death in an auto accident in West Germany Saturday of airman Edward J. Grace, 25, formerly of 66 Bassett st. Unconfirmed reports indi cate he suffered a heart attack while driving and struck a buildine. A former student at Lynn English, he entered the Air Force in 1953 and was serving as a jet mechanic overseas. He leaves a wife, Lorraine, of Salem, and two sons, Dennis, 3, and Jeffrey, 2.

A third child is expected. EPISCOPALIANS Continued jrom the First Page "And when we look within we cannot see much to give us courage," he continued. "Our nation is shocked by revelation of corruption in government, business, labor, and even sports," he said. "Family life is weakened and moral imperatives are clouded." "In the world we stand frustrated unable either to be completely high minded or completely high handed. At home we are either trying to 'forget it all' in a mad round of superficial entertainment or are panicked by our failings." The frightening thing now is that evil is not recognized and power seems to be in the hands of impersonal forces, if not Godless ones," Bishop Stokes emphasized.

One of the prime duties of a bishop is the 'edifying" or building up of the church, he pointed out. "No longer can we regard the church as merely a good thing. It is essential or else it is irrelevant." The number of men now preparing for the Episcopal ministry has diminished about 20 percent in the past five years, Bishop Stokes noted. "We must all work together to encourage the right men to face the ministry as a vocation. In doing this we need the help of laymen all along the line.

"We must once more give men hope and show in our life r.hat if men share Christ's Life they will probably share in iomething of His crucifixion, out will also share His resur rection. "The Enisrnnal Church stands for balance, the Bishop concluded. "Truth, come whence it may, must be faced We must see things in perspective and realize that the important building will not be made with hands. The real building up to be done is the building up of the people of 3od." Following Bishop Stokes' address, the convention heard a report from Rt. Rev.

Frederic 2. Lawrence, Suffragan Bishop of the Diocese. Bishop Lawrence reported that since 1918 the diocese has spent more than $10 million on 18 new churches and 73 new parish houses already built or under construction. At least a dozen parishes and missions remain in urgent need jf new buildings, relocation and enlargement, he noted. One of the features of the convention was the admission to full union with the church Df five parishes and three missions.

They are St. John's Church. Franklin; St. Elizabeth's, Sudbury; Christ Church, Karwich-oort: Trinity, Marshfield; and 5t. Paul's, Millis.

The missions include: St. Luke's, Scitu-jte; The Good Shepherd, cton, and St. Peter's, South Dartmouth. Resolutions on racial and justice, church unity, support of the World and National Councils of Churches, and on public morality, will be presented during the afternoon session.
