CBS listeners are also familiar with his work through his appearances as guest conduc tor of the Philadelphia Orchestra during many of its network broad' casts last season. CBS to Revive 'Workshop9 Series "Homecoming," an original radio drama by Norman Williams, 23 year old Canadian, has been selected as the initial presentation of "The Columbia Workshop" which returns to the air Saturday, February 2. (WHP, 2.30 3.00 p. EST).

The premiere drama, appropriately enough, will be directed by Norman Corwin, for whom "The Columbia Workshop" was a veritable stepping stone to the great success the brilliant writer director enjoys. As the title suggests, "Home coming" is the story of a return' ing soldier, with emphasis on the problems of the lamily preparing to welcome him rather than on those of the veteran himself. It is the first big network acceptance of Williams' work, who is presently employed as an addressograph and multigraph operator in Toronto. "The Columbia Workshop" will be returning after an absence of years from the network. The new series, under the supervision of Robert J.

Landry, director of CBS' division of program continues the workshop's experi meniai poucy. Original music on the program is composed and conducted by Lyn Murray.
