The new show, brought to fruition after two years of intense Dlannina bv Hawk, succeeds his "Thanks to the Yanks" which was a popular success during the war years. . The quipmaster - became known to service men and women throughout the world who received thousands of cigarets given away through the wartime program. "The Bob Hawk Show," an or iginal idea by Hawk, is a lively audience participation program which will provide abundant fun. and laughter for both listeners and contestants. The quiz contest, ants will be drawn from the au dience and given cigarets and cash for correct answers to ques tions. . i Announcers Charlie Stark and Art Gentry will assist Hawk on the program. Peter Van Steeden conducts the orchestra. Arthur Godfrey Guest oPQueen' Arthur Godfrey, who has been dubbed "radio's one man blitz" and the "Huckleberry Finn of radio," will be Ellery Queen's guest armchair detective for "The Adventure of the Various Deaths of Mr. Frayne," Wednesday, Janu. ary 9, at 7.30 p. m., JtsT, over WHP. The deaths of Mr. Frayne prove again that nothing is what it seems in an Ellery Queen crime show Ivan Frayne was a distinguished novelist but his death is a bigger story than any he ever wrote in his lifetime. puzzler to the last, it gives the master sleuth one of his worst headaches as he unravels the curious case of Frayne and his "loving" family. The guest detective, Arthur Godfrey (WHP daily 9.15 a. m.) . is the "Peck's Bad Boy" of radio, , heckling his way to fame and fortune where many another would have fallen beside the microphone. He was so taken aback by the commercials handed him to read on a routine music! program that - he began heckling the sponsors and then sat back certain that he would be fired. 'Ann Malone9 Barbara Weeks is Ana Ma - lone, a nurse and the wife of Dr. Jerry Malone, in CBS' "Young Dr. Malone" (WHP 1.30 p. m daily) serial drama. "Dr. Christian" Solves "Curare" Mystery on WHP A sinister South American drug brings a drama of human hatred to a near - tragic climax in "Curare" a new "Dr. Christian" Thousand - Dollar - Prize - Play by Dr. Simon G. Sax and Joseph C. Cook, of Duluth, Minnesota. Star ring Jean Hersholt in his famous role of Dr. Christian, and featuring Rosemary DeCamp as tys secretary, Judy Price, the script will be heard on Wednesday, January 9, 1946, at 8.30 p. m. over WHf. Jo - Jo the clown plays for big laughs when he does an imitation of a trapeze artist just before Benning and Brown, once - famous aerialists, go into their act. But Jo - Jo's white grease paint hides a bitter grudge. The two per formers, whose health has been slowly succumbing to a myster ious ailment, suffer a serious fall from the high trapeze, and Jo - Jo tries to keep Dr. Christian out of the ring. But the clown drops a bottle of some brown stuff which the physician spots as crude curare. Playing medical detective, the doctor solves the attempted crime.
