WHP and the Columbia network. The distinguished commentator has just returned from a three months' tour to the European continent.

"Perhaps the suddenness with which you get back by air from Europe nowadays distorts your impression a little. The twenty four hours it takes to get from London to New York is too short time to make up the necessary adjustment," said the newscaster upon his arrival back in this country. Mr. Shirer offered a note of warning: "In Germany, where I spent most of the past three months, we are in danger of having a terrible failure. Europe watches uneasily our hysterical efforts to pull out." 4 JANUARY 12 2.30 CBS Treasury Band Stand 3.00 CBS Assignment Home 3.30 CBS International Information Service 8.45 CBS "Cross Section CIO" 4.00 CBS Motor City Melodies 4.30 CBS Elliot Lawrence Orch 5.00 CBS Philadelphia Orch.
