Fidler, 33, one-time High School of Commerce football star, and reported his condition good at Massachusetts General Hospital today. Fidler was shot last night at Main and Chapman s.s., Charles- town, by a man who mistook him for someone else, according to his version to the police. Today Sgt John J.

Connolly and special officer Joseph Wilson questioned all witnesses and friends of Fidler in an effort to solve the mysterious shooting. Fidler told police that he was getting out of a car he had borrowed from a friend, Antonio Flammini of 10 Salem Charlestown, when a man walked up with a revolver. "You've got the wrong guy," Fidler cried, as the man pointed the weapon and fired three times. The fellow ran off, and Fidler was aided by Francis X. Ahern, 27, of 370 Main Charlestown.

Ahern took the wounded man to Massachusetts General Hospital in a cab. Doctors performed an emeree ncy operation and removed two bullets, which were turned over to police ballistics experts. Fidler, who lives at 6 Cross Charlestown, is an M. T. A.
