McCormack of Manila Is completing his Air Force basic military training course at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, Texas. News oi Men In the Service Sergeant First Class Billy M. Crawford, whose wife. Marietta, lives in Holland, recently spent a week's leave in Tokyo from his unit in Korea. Crawford, a veteran of eight years in the Army, is first sergeant in Company A of the 76th Engineer Construction Battalion. The son of O. C. .Crawford, Route 3, Steele, he arrived overseas last April. Vernon Boyd left March 24 from here to board the aircraft carrier, TJSS Hornet at San Diego to go to Japan. Before leaving for the Navy he took Miss Roma Mae Wood of 2328 Carolyn Street for his bride in a wedding which occurred In early March. He will serve in the Quartermaster's Corp in the Navy. Pvt, Don E. Dodd, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred E. Dodd of Leachville, serving with the 4th Marine Regiment at the Marine Corps Air Station at Kanchoe Bay, T. H. The regiment, ground element of the 1st Provisional Marine Air- dround Task Force, arrive dhere' in February from Japan. Pvt. Glenn T. Erickson, 22, whose wife, Marlene, lives on Route 2, Senath, Mo., recently participated in the 1955 Advance Section Rifle Match held by the Army's European Communication Zone near Verdun, Prance. Private Erickson, a warehouseman with the 7768th Army Unit in Verdun, entered the Army in May 1954 and arrived overseas last Oc- BASIC TRAINEE—Pvt. Utah E. OSCEOLA NEWS By Bettye Nolle Starr Mrs. John Ed Phillips, home economics teacher, announces there will be 8-s fashion show Thursday morning; at 10 o'clock at the high school for the purpose of showing the clothes her pupils have made during the year. The public is invited to view the showing, which will include dresses, skirts, blouses and shorts. Chester Danehower, Jr., has returned to Phillips Academy in Andover, Mass., after spending his spring holidays with his parents. Chester will stop over In Norfolk, Va,. and Washington, D. C., en- route to the academy. Mrs. C. E. Dean today with a pitch entertaining party. The guests met Mrs. Dean at the •Rustic Inn for pie and coffee, later going to her home for an afternoon at cards. Mrs. Bob Cromer left today for Laurel, Miss., where she will visit her daughter, Mrs. Bill Fuller, Mr. Fuller and their three sons. Mr. and Mrs. Koath Hanvarg and Mrs. Rose Goldberg are in Memphis today as dinner guests of Mrs. Harwarg's sister, Mrs. Sam Newman, and Mr. Newman. Tomorrow night they will observe the second passover supper in Blytheville, ut the Temple. Freeman, son of Mrs. Lois Pleeman of Manila has completed his training for the Air Force at Chanute Field, 111. and will report to Sacramento, Calif., for futher training April 30. A graduate of Manila High School in 1954, he entered the Air Force last June and was recently promoted to airman second class. He will spend a two week's leave with his parents before leaving for the new base. Magnolia and Prescott. The Rev. O. B Moore, pastor of First Christian Church, has announced .Sunrise Services Easter Sunday morning at 5:30. Everyone is invited to attend this impressive service. The Rev. William O. Scroggins will deliver the baccalaureate sermon for the Osceola High School seniors. The sermon will be held at First Baptist Church on Friday night. May 8, 8 p.m. Commencement exercises will be held on May 20, B p.m. at the high schol auditorium. The seniors will leave on April 11 for their trip to Miami returning home on May 19.
