THE BOSTON GLOBE THURSDAY. MARCH 1. 1962 Seven Norwood Bowladrome Burns, Hub Has Two Fires, Lawrence One The fireman reached a window and an aerial ladder was quickly moved into position. Members of Ladder 15 took off the firefighter. A spectacular rescue of a fireman marked a triple-alarm blaze in a four-story brick building at 827 Wssh- who talked with the Santoro brothers of Norwood, owners of the building, the loss was estimated at $100,000.

"The place is a goner," a Norwood firemen battled a general alarm blaze in a -bowladrome at daybreak today shortly after five alarms were sounded for two intown Boston fires. The Norwood fire was the most spectacular of a series of blazes in the Eastern Massachusetts area. The fire started in the basement housing the alleys and was moving into the first-floor skating rink when spotted by a motorist ington near the theatrical district. Members of the advancing hose company were able to get out of the building on the opposite side. Core of the $35,000 blaze was in the first and second floors but smoke plugged the mm whole building.
