Miss Irene Crawiord, 1002 Prospect avenue, said she left the diamonds with Dr. Horton in July, 1920, to be sold or exchanged by him. She since has asked for their return, she said, but Dr. Horton failed to comply, and I the charge was filed.

Dr. Horton, whose kiitials are given as in the warrant, said the rharge is due to misunderstanding, that the diamonds were sent to Tucson, and that witnesses from there will satisfactorily explain the case. Dr. Horton is at liberty under his personal recognizance. County Pioneers association is planned as a reuslt of the initial party given to them Saturday afternoon by a-nd friends of the organization.

The function was held in the Juarez race track auditorium. There were 1200 men, young and old, in attendance. An increase in residences over the United States is reported by the American Contractor. Thirty-four per per cent of all buildings for this year have been residences. Nichols, of the motor transport corps, was arrested by police Capt. Joe Stowe a short time after three men had robbed Romero Aguilar. He was also interested in the Ivey-Dale ranch at Tornillo and was there Saturday afternoon watching employes bale hay when he was stricken suddenly with heart disease. With his soninlaw, Mr.

Owen, Mr. Dale establ shed the El Paso Refining company here in 1909. He had interests in California and divided his time between there, El Paso and Dallas until three years ago when he made El Paso his home. He lived with his wife and son, J. B.

Dale, at Hotel Paso del Norte for the past two years. The son was in New York on business at the time of his death. Besides his wife, son and daughter, Mr. Dale is survived by two brothers, J. T.

and J. E. Dale of Henrietta, Texas. Elbert Country Club Locker Man Dies After Taking Strychnine Elbert Jones. 43 years old, trusted negro locker room man at the El Paso Country club, took strychnine Sunday afternoon in his home not far from the club house, and died shortly afterward.

Elbert had been despondent for several days. When his wife entered his room, he told her he had taken the poison and was going to die. Dr. C. P.

Brown was on the golf course at the time and went to the bedside. Elbert told the doctor he couldn't do anything. have taken enough to kill 14 he said. The strychnine was some of the poison used at the club in killing gophers. Elbert, besides having charge of the locker room, for the last month has been in charge of work which is being done at the club to improve the golf course.

He came to El Paso ten years ago from Houston. At Houston he was locker man for the Houston Country club and, when the club members there learned his health was failing, they arranged for him to come to El Paso. After justice of the peace R. B.
