With more than 15 years' ex perience, Trout is one or. radio most capable and best known news men. His long career has been marked by coolness under strain and for his objective ap proach. He is familiar to millions of listeners because of his many radio achievements, such as his work on Day, during which he went to the microphone 35 times in 24 hours, his covering of Pres ident Roosevelt's death and his war reporting record. Trout was born in Wake County, North Carolina, on October 15, 1908.

and in his more than 15 years on the air, he has broadcast from many countries, interviewed thousands of people; he has re ported irom the depths of a strike' bound coal mine and from tne center of blitzed London yet, he has never missed a cue. On his present assignment, Trout has at his disposal a worldwide staff of correspondents, the facilities of leading wire services along with his own research and writing stall. 'Sparkle Time9 Meredith Willson, one of radio's veteran orchestra leaders, who has wielded the baton on many outstanding radio shows, is now the feature attraction on "Sparkle Time," a new musical beard every Friday night at 7.30 on WHP under the sponsorship of a well known "Bubble Water" Company. "The Tenth Clue" Next Sam Spade Mystery on WHP "The Tenth Clue" will be the mystery solved by Dashiell Ham mett's favorite sleuth on "The Adventures of Sam Spade," on Sunday, October 13, at 8 p. over WHP.

Howard Duff is star red in the part of Sam Spade. Murderers have traditionally sought to commit the perfect crime by leaving no clues. They are nearly always caught by overlooking one insignificant clue. In "The Tenth Clue," Sam Spade is confronted by a case In which the criminal seeks to commit the perfect crime by purposely leaving nine clues that will divert any possible suspicion from himself. Lieutenant Dundy, of the homicide squad, is disgusted when Spade proves the falsity of the clues the police officer, has so gleefully gathered.

Sam, however, knows the key to the murder lies in the false clues. In a startling piece of deduction, he assembles the nine false clues in such a way that they form a tenth clue that points unerringly to the culprit.
