17 HEDDA ti SEMES OM TOP HARRISBURG TELEGRAPH, Harrisburg, Saturday, October 5, 1946 OPENS MEW Hildegarde Presides Over "Campbell Room" Premiere on The incomparable Hildegarde, vivacious entertainer and chanteuse, comes to the Columbia Broadcasting System's nation wide network, Sunday, mate "The Campbell (WHP, 9 9.30 p. With her she brings' famous guests and celebrities scattered throughout the ringside, eager to participate in the weekly half hour of sophisticated entertainment sparked by Hildegarde's "Darling, Je Vous Aime Beaucoup." Hildegarde returns to radio over CBS after the briefest air vacation of her career. Just two months ago she was the gay hostess at her final radio party of the waning season. In the interim, and because oi thousands of requests from listen ers. she made a cross country per sonal appearance tour.

This tour comes to an end in New York at the Roxy Theatre where she opens on September 11. As "The Campbell Room" star, Hildeearde will match her person ality and wit with that of impor tant guests from industry, movies, politics, journalism, stage ana ra dio the same people she would bring into the spotlight for a few moments during a supper club performance in the Persian Room of New York's famed Hotel Plaza, Jean Sablon Is Guest oPQueen9 Jean Sablon, romantic French singer, heard on his own CBS program each Sunday, is the guest detective on the "Adventures of Ellery Queen" when the program returns to the air Wednesday, October 9, after a five week recess (WHP, 7.30 8 p. The master detective dramatizes "The Adventures of Ellery Queen Criminal" as the first story of the new series. The story begins with a chess game and winds up with Queen in a tight spot he cannot convince Secretary assistant Nikki Porter, Sergeant Velie and Inspector Richard Queen that he is Ellery and not an imposter. Sablon as guest sleuth will have an opportunity to clear up the mystery before Queen provides the solution.

Since leaving the Army, Stone has been performing on Broadway and is now appearing at La Martinique in New York.

In the music department Kate Smith sings a medley of old hits and new favorites. She is support ed by Jack Miller's orchestra and the "Four Chicks and Chuck" vo cal group. Theatre Date Gene Tierney has a date with Producer William Keighley to recreate her original screen role in the Lux Radio Theatre presentation, Dragonwyck on Monday, October 7, at 9 p. m. (EST) over WHP.

Her escort will be Vincent Price who will also re enact the role he played in the film version of the psychological drama. "The Seventh Veil" tells the story of an orphaned girl who. through the strict discipline of her guardian, becomes an outstanding concert pianist The rigors of conce'r tizing bring on a series of mental complexities and her brilliant career is cut short through loss of self confidence in her talent.

A surprising climax reveals the true nature of her psychosis. As in the movie version, the music will be an important part of the drama. Conductor Deutsch will use Beethoven's "Pathetique" and some of his own original music as a motivating force in the plot. Deutsch is a veteran movie musical director, having composed more than fifty film scores. "This Is Hollywood" is produced by Frank Woodruff; scripts art by Bill Hampton.
