Resisting arrest, 4000 block of Tyler, July 17: Four officers had to drag a man out of a patrol car and physically move him into a cell after he was arrested for driving under the influence. Officers pulled over and arrested the suspect for driving while intoxicated. While en route to the Northeast Regional Command Center the suspect became violent and officers had to stop twice to prevent him from damaging the patrol car. When they arrived at the police station the suspect refused to get out of the car and officers had to physically remove him and take him into the cell. East Burglary vehicle, 1000 block of Lee Trevino, July 15: A man said someone forced open his car's passenger side door and stole his brief case, 15 compact discs and $200. Criminal mischief, 900 block of Navarrette, July 17: A man said someone broke his truck's rear windshield with a brick. He said he found the brick in the bed of the truck. Prosecution desired. Antonio Morales, 77, of El Paso died Saturday (July 10, 1999). Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Survivors include his son, Antonio Morales his daughter, Elizabeth Garnica; two grandchildren; and four greatgrandchildren. He was retired and a longtime El Paso resident.

SILVER CITY Ruben E. Gonzalez, 75, of Bayard died Sunday (July 18, 1999). Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in Baca's Funeral Chapel, with prayer vigil at 7 p.m. Funeral liturgy will be at 10 a.m.

Thursday in Santa Clara Catholic Church. Burial will be in Fort Bayard National Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth; and his daughter, Mary Ellen Gonzalez. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lazaro and Guadalupe Gonzalez; and a sister. He was a retired security guard from Kennecott Copper Corporation and a World War II Navy resident.

Memorial contributions may be made to Gila Regional Medical Center Hospice Program, 1313 E. 32nd Silver City, N.M., 88061. Erma Marie Wilson, 82, of El Paso died Saturday (July 17, 1999). No services are planned. Survivors include her son, Clifford Dean Wilson; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George and her Angel Rivas; and her sister, Maria Elena Torres. She was a sales representative with Sears Roebuck and lived in Vinton two years. Donald E. Chambers, 68, of El Paso died Sunday (July 18, 1999). Burial will be Friday in Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, Houston.

Survivors include his wife, Lisa; his daughters, Donna Lee Chambers Miers and Roberta Chambers Billig; his stepdaughter, Sioux Hatcher; a brother; a sister; three grandchildren; and a greatgrandchild. He was the founder of the Bandidos Motorcycle Club and lived in El Paso 12 years. Arrangements are by Martin Funeral Home-Montana. Gerardo Eaton, 34, of El Paso Thursday (July 15, 1999). He was an office manager and lived in El Paso 11 years. Edgar "Eddie" Jefferson Reed, 75, of El Paso died Monday (July 19, 1999).

Survivors include his wife, Mickey Utley; his son, Randall Reed; his daughter, Ginny Peek; three sisters; five grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren.

He was an insurance special agent and a World War II veteran. He lived in El Paso 42 years. Joeliza Marie Reza, 1, of El Paso died Saturday (July 17, 1999). Mass of the Angels will be at 11:30 a.m. today in Cristo Rey Catholic Church.

Burial will be in Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Survivors include her father, Joel Reza; her mother, Carmen M. Pagan; and her brothers, Joshua Hernandez and Gilbert Paz. Arrangements are by Sunset Funeral Home-Carolina. DEATHS ELSEWHERE Faye Marquez, 44, of Indianapolis and formerly of El Paso died Saturday (July 17, 1999).

Services were already held. Survivors include her son, Eli Marquez; her daughter, Vanessa Marquez; three brothers; and a sister. She was formerly a loan officer with Government Employees Credit Union in El Paso and was currently a branch manager with Finance Center Federal Credit Union in Greenfield, Ind. He was retired from the civil service with White Sands Missile Range and a World War II Marine Corps veteran. He lived in El Paso 32 years. Amelia C. Caskins, 58, of El Paso died Thursday (July 15, 1999). Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m.

CARLSBAD Esperanza D. Armendarez, 84, of Carlsbad died Monday (July 19, 1999). Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. today in Denton-Funchess Funeral Home, with vigil at 7 p.m. in San Jose Catholic Church.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the church. Burial will be in Santa Catarina Cemetery.
