I Council of Women Plans Luncheon For Provincial President A luncheon was arranged for Mrs. F. J. Rolston, provincial president of the Local Council of Wo men, who is to be guest speaker at the Women's Canadian club Monday, when members of the Local Council of Women met in the City hall Monday. Mrs.

J. Fletcher Shaw presided and seven affiliated societies were represented. The secretary was instructed to write Mrs. L. O.

McCarter expressing appreciation of her sen ices as treasurer and regret that she had left the city. Mrs. Clark, president of the Wo men's Institute, reported having secured a building to be used as a Women's building. Mrs. Shaw gave an interesting report of the national convention.

Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Bowden and two sons are leaving this week to take up residence at Green Lake.

Newlyweds Honored A shower honoring Mr. and Mrs. Fred McFaul, a recent bride and groom, was given by Mrs. Isaac Nixon at her home on Nowell street Wednesday evening.

The rooms were decorated with fall flowers and gifts were brought in on a miniature bread van drawn by Billy Larsen who was dressed to represent a baker. A contest was enjoyed, the winner being Billy Larsen. Vocal selections were given by Miss Helen Currie and R. Stanton accompanied by Miss L. Jensen.

Refreshments were served with Mrs. J. C. Henson, mother of the bride, pouring tea and Mrs. K.

Militia Dance Enjoyable Affair The Rollerdrome dance Friday evening at which enlisted men and their ladies were guests was well attended by the men and by the public, and was a thoroughly enjoyable event. Cash receipts have been put aside to assist in pre senting another evening's enter tainment for the militia men at some future date. Liberal assis tance by 20 business firms and by women who assisted in serving refreshments is gratefully acknowledged by the sponsors, Charles Dew and Neale Unruh.

Baptist Y.P.S. Makes Presentation Following the regular meeting of the Baptist Young People's society Monday night, Mrs. Ross Bowlby, on behalf of the members, presented a gift to Miss Belle Dickinson, a member of the organization who left the following day for Tallheo. W. S. Hanna, 24 Lewis avenue, Wednesday evening for the 7:30 o'clock ceremony at which their daughter, Alma Julia, became the bride of Donald Gleig, son of Mr. and Mrs. R.

A. B. Gleig, 31 Lewis avenue. Rev. J.

A. Munro performed the ceremony under a bower decorated with pink and white streamers and autumn flowers. For her wedding the bride had chosen a teal blue satin crepe dress with bustle effect. She wore a corsage of Talisman roses and a coronet of forget me nots. She was given in marriage by her father and was attended by her sister, Mrs.

D. B. Hawn, as matron of honor, who wore flowered sheer over pink taffeta on which was pinned a corsage of Talisman roses and she wore matching flowers irt her hair. Mrs. A.

Mansfield, sister of the bride, rendered a vocal solo "At Dawning." George Sutherland was groomsman. A three tier wedding cake cen tered the bride's table covered with a white linen cloth bordered with flowers in pastel shades, and was flanked by triple brass candle sticks holding tall ivory tapers Mrs. Charles Hodgson, Mrs. Leslie Martin and Mrs. Arthur Mansfield were serviteurs.

For travelling to the Coast on her honeymoon the bride donned a wine coat with black fur trim and black accessories. Mr. and Mrs. Gleig will take up residence here. Out of town guests were Mr.

Mansfield, Biggar, Sask. TINKLER BROWN Autumn leaves and cedar boughs with dahlias and gladioli formed the setting of a quiet wedding at Chilliwack Seventh Day Adventist church when at 11 a.m. on September 24 Viola Ruth, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R.

A. Brown, Edmonton, became the bride of Desmond Ernest Tinkler, only son of Mr. and Mrs. A. A.

Tinkler, Sardis. The ceremony was performed by Elder E. A. Beavon, Vancouver. Given in marriage by her mother, the bride looked lovely in a shimmering gown of India brown silk, family heirloom.

Her veil fell from a Dolly Vardon hat of net. She carried an open Bible, a present from the groom, on which lay a spray of small pink lillies. The bride's attendant was her youngest sister, Marlene, wearing a floor length pink silk dress with pink net bolero and carrying an arm bouquet of baby asters and fern. The groom was supported by El vin Abbey. Soloist was Miss Kathleen Tinkler, sister of the groom, who rendered "Ah Sweet Mystery of Life." Miss Evelyn Tinkler played the nuptial music, A large number of friends from Vancouver, Chilliwack and Promontory attended.

A small reception was held at the home of the groom's parents following which the bride and groom left for a short honeymoon to be spent at Burns Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Tinkler will reside at Prince George. JOHN8TON JETTER A pretty wedding was solemnized in St.

Elmo W.I. hall Saturday evening when Violet Evelyn, daughter of Mrs. M. Jetter, became the bride of Oscar Johnston, formerly of Sweden. Rev.

T. S. Paton, Rosedale, officiated. Miss Nettie Eichstadt, Rosedale, played the wedding march and Mrs. Wylie sang "When You Come Home," accompanied by Mrs.

Ed. Dale. The bride wore a navy suit and a black hat and carried a bouquet of pink and white carnations. She was attended by her cousin, Miss Irene Graham, who wore a pink crepe dress. Her bouquet was also comprised of carnations.

The groom was supported by Ray Jetter, brother of the bride Pink and white asters and streamers decorated the hall where buffet luncheon was served im mediately following the ceremony. After a short wedding trip, Mr. and Mrs. O. Johnston will reside in their new home at St.

Given in marriage by Dr. C. E. McRae, the bride wore a frock of moss green sheer woollen with finely pleated skirt and auilted petal closing. Her accessories were in shade of harvest wine and her only ornament was a gold and pearl bracelet which had been worn by the groom's mother.

Her corsage was of roses in harmonizing tones. Miss Margaret Stanford attended as bridesmaid wearing an autumn brown woollen ensemble with black and brown accessories. James Lambeth was the groomsman. For travelling the bride donned a topcoat of jungle green over her wedding costume. Mr.
