The Rev. E. J. Goedeking opened the evening with the scripture lesson, I Thess. Chapter and prayer.

The subject for discussion was: "Eschatology," the doctrine of the last and final things. It is a term used in theolbgy to explain signs and symbols of the latter days. Led by Rev. Mr. Goedeking, the question of whether or not there are divinely revealed signs, from which It may be known that the judgment, the last days are' approaching, was interestingly discussed by and by three visiting ministers; the Rev.

and Mrs. VanAtta. Open House was held from 2 to 4 o'clock In the afternoon and from 7 to 9 o'clock in the evening, When Mr. and Mrs. VanAtta received more tha'n ISO relatives and friends at their, home.

Yellow roses were used In profusion in the rooms, especially in the dining room, where the candle lit tea table was centered with a three- tier wedding cake with gold reco- rations, and yellow roses and candles- adorned the buffet. More Society On Page 6 WE ISS Personal Mention District Meeting Of Legion Set Here The Sixth American Legion District will meet Sunday at the lo' cal Legion park. Registration will start at 10 a.m. and the meeting will continue until p.m.

This will be the first time in five years that the local Legion Post 79 will be host to the conference. The Legion Auxiliary will serve the noon meal at 12:30 in the high school cafeteria. All Union County Legionnaires are urged to attend the meeting. All the District officers will be present.
