Johnson was born June 19, Randolph County, a son of Clark and Susan McGee Johnson, and had been a-resident of that area most of-''his He was a retired farmer and'a member of Mt. and Neal H. JoTLi- son of Detroit, one daughter, Mrs- Roy (Ruby) Fulp of Trinity; 10-grandchildren; and several great- grandchildren. 'Funeral will be i Wednesday at 3 p. m. at the Curnby Chapel by the Rev.

Charles Walker and the Rev. Aaron Moss. Burial will be in Mt. Gilead i methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Charles Fulp, Bobby Fulp, Dr.

N. C. Johnson, Hayden Walker, Lindsay Loftin and T. D. Brower.

The body will remain at the Cumfay Mortuary until placed in the Chapel 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will bo at the funeral home tonight from 7 until 9. The family requests that memorials be directed to Mt Gilead United i Church. J. M- PECEN FOUNTAIN INN, S.C.

James Marvin Peden, 87, of Fountain Inn died Monday in Greenville General Hospital in Greenville, following a lengthy illness. He was a life long member of the Fairview community "at Fountain Inn. He was a member of a i i Presbyterian Church, where he was an elder emeritus. He was also Chief of the Pedens of America, an honor which was'bestowed upon him for life. Survivors are his wife, Mrs.

lallie Peden of the home; three daughters, Jessie Peden of Greensboro, an instructor in education at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro; Mrs. Luther R. Medlin of Jamestown, principal of Claxton Elementary School, and Mrs. 'David Woodside of Fountain Inn; and a son, John C. Peden of Gastonia.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete. MRS. GWENDOLYN FIRTH GREENSBORO Gwendolyn Firth, 48, of Atlanta, a native, of Greensboro, died Sunday in Atlanta, following an automobile accident. Survivors are her mother Mrs. Z.

N. Holler of the Presbyterian Home "in" High Point; a son, Michael Firth of Atlanta, a brother, Dr. Z. N. Holler of Raleigh; and a sister, Mrs.

Len Cox of Greensboro. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. The body is to be brought to Forbis Dick "Funeral Home. J. A.

WATSON SILER'CITY Funeral for James Arthur or Siler City, who was shot and killed Friday night in Siler City, was to be held at 3 p. m. today at Mt. Nebo Holiness Church in Ramseur. Watson was shot with a .32 caliber pistol on U.S.

64 near the Jiffy Burger Restaurant at about 10:30 p. m. Friday, police said. Survivors are his parents, the Rev. and- Mrs.

A. Jarreft Carl Ashley Jarrett, 60, of Rt. 2, High Point, died'at 6 p.m. Monday in High Point Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient for 10 days. Mr.

Jarrett was born April 15, 19G9, in Guilford County, a son of C. and Florence Lamb Jarrett. On Oct. 1,1938, he was married to Elva Glascoe. A resident of Guilford County most of his life, he was employed by Marsh Furniture Co, for many years, retiring July 7, 1969.

He was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Elva Glascoe Jarrett of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Lillie Mae Smith" of New Jersey; three great-grandchild; one sister, Mrs. Violet Perry of Street; his step-mother, Mrs.

C. Jarrett of Rt. 4, Thomasville, eight half-sisters, Mrs. Bert Benfield and Mrs. Ethel Cox, both of Rt.

4, Thom- asviltej Mrs. Margaret Staley of Liberty, Kathleen Murphy, and Mrs. Alene Saintsing, both of Rt. 4, 'Thomasville, Mrs. Gladys Jarrett of MRS.

DENIE DENNIS GIBSONVILLE Denie Holland Dennis, 76, of Gibsonville died Monday in Moses Cone Hospital i Greensboro. She had been in declining health for five years. She was a Randolph County native and a member of Gibsonville United i Church. Survivors are two sons, Jimmy Dennis and i Dennis, both of Gibsonville; four daughters, Mrs. Mazie Randolph of Gibsonville, Miss Edith Dennis of the home, Mrs.

Aldine Jobe of Graham and Mrs. Cofeen Scott of Burlington; two sisters, Mrs. Annie Bean and Mrs. Les both' of Randleman. Five grandchildren; and one great, grandchild.

Funeral "will be Wednesday at 2 p. m. at Gibsonville United Methodist Church by the Rev. David Cowart. Burial be in Gibsonville City Cemetery.

Main St. Phone 885-2151 Plans to start instruction of a course in automobile mechanics and a course in cashier-checker under the federal Manpower Development Traning Act were announced today- by William Hollar, manager of the High Point Employment Security Commission, office. Hollar said that both courses will'be taught at Greensboro under the direction of Guilford Technical institute. He said that persons interested in taking the courses should call the local ESC office for additional information. Some financial aid is available on the basis of individual situations, Hollar said.
