TOC High Point Enterprise, Thursday, March 11, 1971 DEATHS Mrs. Daisy Mock Is Dead At 50 Mrs; Daisy Lee Mock, 50, of 328 Robbing Jamestown, died Wednesday at 6:15 a. m. in High Point Memorial Hospital following eight days of hospitalization. She was born April 6, 1920, In Aiken County, S.C., and had been a resident of Guilford County for 20 years.

She was a member of First Emmanuel Baptist Church. Eastern Star Lodge and the Court of Calanthe. Survivors include daughters, Mrs. Bernice Kelly of Baltimore, Mrs. Rosetta Joyner of Elizabeth, N.J., and Mrs.

Patricia Murray of High Point; two sons, Mitchell B. Mock Balti-" more, Md. and Ronald E. Mock of the home; 11 grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Alma Johnson of Greensboro.

Funeral will be held Saturday at 2 p. m. at First Emmanuel Baptist Church by the Rev. D. D.

Mason and the Rev. B. D. Curtis. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery.

The body will remain at Haizlip Funeral Home until placed'in the church 30 minutes prior to funeral service. The family will be at the funeral chapel Friday from 7 to 9 p. m. CHARLIE F. HJNSON Charlie F.

Hinson, 76, of 606 Amos St. died Tuesday at 7:45 p. m. in the Veteran's Hospital in Durham. He was born July 17,1894, in Anson County, a son of Ned Ella Jane Ricketts Hin- sofy and had been a resident of High Point for over 50 years.

He was a retired em- ploye of Triangle Hosiery Mill, a member of Brooks Memorial United Methodist where he served as a member of the Methodist Men, the Adult Sunday School Class and the trustee and steward board. He was also a member of the Knights Of Pythian Grand Rapid Lodge 103 and the Senior Citizens. He was a veteran of World War I. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Seresta G.

Hinson of the home; one daughter, Marion DeShields of Greensboro; four'sons, Charles Hinson of Greensboro, Jerome, Clifton and Bernard Hinson, all of High; Point; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Helen G. Cole and Mrs. Annie Laurie Dixon, both of High Point; two brothers, Walter Bell Hinson of Mountain Home, and James Hinson of Springfield, three sisters, Mrs. Lula Hinson, Mrs.

Lois Allison and Mrs. Geneva Trueblood, all of Salisbury; 16 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral will be held Sunday at 2 m. at Brooks Memorial United Methodist Church by the Rev. Trevor Jones.

Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery with military rites. The body remain at Haizlip Funeral Home until' placed in the church one hour prior to funeral hour. The family will be at the funeral chapel Saturday from 7 to 9 p. m. Murphey Funeral Set For Friday MRS.

H. M. GLIDEWELL KERNERSVILLE Mrs. Henry M. GlidewelL, 87, of Route 3, died Wednesday -at her home.

She was the former Lillar Hicks and was a native of Stokes County. She was the oldest member of Wilson Primitive Baptist where she had been a member for 58 years. Survivors are four daughters, Mrs. Harley Brown, Mrs. Horace McGee, Mrs.

Claudia Joyce and Mrs. Walter Joyce, all of Route 3, a son, H. G. Glidewell of Route a sister, Mrs. Will Dunlap of Winston- Salem; and three brothers, R.

W. Hicks of Wallace, Sandy Hicks of Stokesdale and Tom Hicks of Danbury. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. The body is at Lain Funeral Home. MRS.

OLA DENNIS TROY Mrs. Ola Hunsucker Dennis, 77, i Wednesday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Hughes Dunn of 641 Eldorado Troy. Surviving are six sons, the Rev. Frank Dennis of Rt.

3, Mount Gilead, Max Dennis of Asheboro, Reece and Jesse Dennis, both of Troy, James Derails of Badin and Ira Dennis of Rt. 2, Mount Gilead; six daughters, Mrs. Dewey Mrs. Frank Morris, Mrs. Clayton Harris, Mrs.

Donald i Morris and Mrs. Hughes Dunn, all of Troy, and Mrs. Belton Saunders of Rob- brother, Hpbson Hunsucker of Candor; and two sisters, Mrs. Anna Dennis of Rt. 3, 'Mount Gilead, and Mrs.

Carl Halthcock of Mount Charles Glenn Murphey, 63, of 22-A Clara Cox Apts. was dead on arrival at High Point Memorial Hospital Wednesday at 8 p. m. He had been in declining health four years. Mr.

Murphey was born Feb. 6, 1908, in Forsyth County, a son of Charles Stafford and Ida Cable Murphey. He was a retired employe of R. C. Motor Line.

He had been a resident of the High Point area for the past 38 years and was of the Methodist faith. On Feb. 9, 1930, he was married to the former Mary (Polly) Pauline James, who survives of the home. Surviving in'addition to his wife are one son, Randall Glenn Murphey of Charlotte; MRS. THEODORE AUTRY Funeral for Mrs.

Veronica A. Gave Autry of New York, N. will be held Saturday at Brown Chapel 7th Avenue, New York, N. Y. Burial will be in New York, The family is at the home of Mrs.

Rosa Gripper, 210 W. Willis High Point. Mrs. Autry a former High Point resident, died Monday in New York following a brief illness. She was born April 5, 1947, and was a graduate of William Penn High High Point She was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are her husband Theodore Autry of High Point; one sister, Mrs. Barbara Jones of Trenton, N. and two brothers, Sgt. Ronald L. Gaye of Cherry Point, and Thirkeal Gaye Jr.

of Washington, D. C. W. TR1PP SIGMAN AUGUSTA, Ga. Funeral for W.

Tripp Sigman, 72, of 760 McClure.Dr., Augusta, was to be held today at 12 noon at the Church of the Good Shepherd by ttie Rev. Allen B. Clarkson. Burial was to be in Westover Memorial Park. Mr.

Sigman died Monday in Augusta. He was born in Mooresyille, N. and had lived in Augusta for 30 years. He was a major league baseball player, playing with Nashville, in the Southern he played i the Philadelphia Phillies and the Baltimore Orioles. He also managed sports programs for Republic Mills in Great Falls, S.

C. He was married to Mrs. Ethel Lett Sigman, who survives of the home. Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Susan S.

Carswell of Augusta; one grandchild; and four sisters, Mrs. T. R. McNeely and Miss Ruth Sigman, both of Mooresville, N. Mrs.

John Spencer of High Point, N. and Mrs. E. L. Huneycutt of Folly Beach, S.

C. MRS. A. B. WALKER REIDSVILLE Mrs.

Nina B. Walker, 82, formerly of Reidsville, died Tuesday at Maple Rest Home, Greensboro. Mrs. Walker was a native of the Glencoe community of Rockingham County and was the Nina Williams; She was the widow of Arch B. Walker and was a member of Glencoe United i Church.

Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Wade Turpin of Route 8, and Mrs. Harold Hopper of Reidsville; three sisters, Mrs. Henry Basham of Reidsville, Mrs. Minnie Hudson of and Mrs.

Fred Kersey of Wilmington; and a brother, Hampton Williams of Lexington. Funeral was to be held at 2 p. m. today at Glencoe United Methodist Church. Funeral arrangements are Incomplete.

MRS. JOHN H. SORRELS THOMASVILLE Mrs. Laura Brown Sorrels, 67, of 1001 Elwood Thomasville, died Tuesday at 7 p.m. in City Memorial Hospital following hospitalization of 33 days.

Mrs. Sorrels was born in Thomasville, a daughter of the late Henry and Charlotte Gray Brown. a spent entire life in Thomasville and was a member of Emmanuel a i a i Missionary Circle 1. She was also a of the East End' Prayer Band and the Senior Citizens Club. Surviving are her husband, John H.

Sorrels of the home; and two foster daughters, Mrs, Shirley Banks and Mrs. Nancy Borders, both of Thomasville. Funeral will be p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church by the Oscar Cook. Burjal will be in City Cemetery.

The body will remain 'a Thqmas-Haizlip Funeral Home, and the family will be at the funeral chapel tonight from 7 to 9. two grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Blanche Ward of 1004 N. Main St. and Mrs.

Edythe Coner of English Road; and one brother, Samuel S. Murphey of Richmond, Va. Funeral will be held Friday at 2 p. m. at the Cumby Chapel by the Rev.

HJeh ho mnrrled Funeral for Mrs. Patty Mans'on Barrow of the Presbyterian Home was to be held today at 2 p.m. at Clark's Funeral Home Chapel in Kenbridge, Vn. Burial was to be in the Kenbridge Cemetery. Mrs.

Barrow died Wednesday at 8:15 a.m. in the infirmary at the Presbyterian Home. She had lived at the home for 11 years and was the widow of Arthur M. Barrow. She was a member of the Church of the Covenant in Greensboro.

Survivors include one sister, Mrs, Ella MacKenzle Dunn of the Presbyterian Home; and brother, W. F. Mansoit of Greensboro. MRS. DIXON AHL Word was received here of the death of Mrs.

Dlxon (Margaret) Ahl of Pompano Beach, 'Fla. She i Wednesday night a suffering a heart attack, Mrs. Ahl was a former High Point resident. The body will be returned to High Point. Edwin Coxy 74, of Rt.

4, High Point, died Wednesday at p. High Point Memorial Hospital, He had been in his usual health until'suffering heart attack on March Mr. Cox was born March 4, 1897, in Randolph County, a son of Gurney and Jean Albright Cox, and had been a resident of the Allen Jay community about 47 years. He was a retired farmer. He attended Providence We'sleyan Church and was a member of Concord United Methodist Church in Coleridge.

On March 3, 1934, he was married to Miss Esther Fields, who survives of the home. Surviving In addition to his wife are five sons, Jimmy G. Cox of Route 4, Bobby R. Cox of-Route 1, IS. Gurney Cox of Archdale, Willis L.

and Wesley P. Cox, both of Route 10 grandchildren; one brother, Owen Cox of Coleridge; and two sisters, Mrs. Panco (Mary) Nichols and Miss Ruth Cox, both of Randleman. The body is at. Cumby Mortuary pending completion of funeral arrangements.
