Deaths and Funerals Whitten Rites Set Friday THOMASVILLE Mrs. Margaret Rock Whitten, 64. of Jones Circle died at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday at Community General Hospital after a cntical illness of four months. She was born in Old Fort to Carl B.

and Blanche Crawford Rock and spent her early life in Manchester, Ga She had lived in Thomasville since 1938 She attended a a i LaGrange, Ga and was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church. In April 1936, she married G. E. Whitten, who survives of the home. Also surviving are sons G.

E. Whitten Jr. of Toccoa, Stephen L. Whitten of Greenville, S.C., David R. Whitten of Wilmington and John P.

Whitten o. Eden; and five grandchildren Funeral will be held at 11 a Friday at Memorial United Methodist Church by the Rev Claude Young Jr and the Rev James Westmoreland Burial will be in Holly Hills Cemetery. The body will remain at C. Green and Sons Funeral Home until the service. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 9 tonight and at the home, 217 Jones Circle Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society Mrs.

A. Knight Dies At 85 Harry Albert Knight 85, of 301 Otteray Drive died at 11:20 a.m.

Wednesday in Davidson Nursing Thomasville. He had been in declining health for two years and critically ill three weeks. Mr. Knight was born Sept. 2,1890, in Stokesdale, a son of Albert Lindsay and Susan Martin Knight.

On Oct. 29, 1912, he was married to Tamsie Ann Stultz Wall. The town of Fieldale, Va. was founded around the Fieldcrest Plant for Marshall Field and Co. in 1918, where Mr.

Knight helped organize the plant and was plant manager. In 1933, Jie came to High Point as manager of the Hillcrest Silk Mill for Marshall Field and' Co. He was president of Deep River Mining president of Hendrix Knight Land and Lumber owner of Mica Minerals Co and owner of Pilot Lumber Co He served as a of the Presidents Committee for Safety during World War II, as a dollar a year man for Strategic Minerals He was a member of First Baptist Church, where he was a deacon. Surviving are his wife, Mrs Tamsie Ann Knight of the home, two daughters, Mrs Glenn (Tamsie) Hendrix of 206 Hillcrest Dr and Mrs Eddie Saunders of Ledfcrd Oaks; one son, Harry Albert Kmght Jr of 900 Blain St, three sisters, Mrs Kate Kilker of Los Angeles, Calif, Mrs. Charles (Jessie) Stewart of Reidsville and Mrs C.

She had been a resident of High Point since 1960 and was a member of Garrell Street Baptist Church. On March 12, 1911, she was married to David Sanders Rogers, who died March 15, 1960. Surviving are two sons: Hoid Rogers of Ellerbe and Raymond Rogers of Thomasville; three daughters: Mrs. Coley (Clatis) Hunsucker of King, Mrs. Shirley Stanley of 406 Barker and Mrs.

Marion (Ruth) Miller of 1608 Bradley 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. S. P. (Angle) Joyce of Rt. 3, Mt Airy.

Funeral will be held Friday at 2 m. from Asbury Presbyterian Church at Asbury (near Westfield) by the Rev. George H. Wallace and the Rev. Lester Shepard.
