N. Montgomery of Engine 5 and other firemen were quicklv driven from the premises. A second alarm and a long fight by the firemen was necessary in order to extinguish the second Are. Testimony by hoseman Montgomery pointed to the theory that the second fire was due to some powerful chemical. The parcel has a total assessment of $21,600, and there is 36,702 square feet of land, taxed for $11,000. Sadie Feinstein has taken title from Max Kupfernan to a frame house and 4600 square feet of land on Browning av, between Bernard and Wales sts, taxed tor $7700. Of this amount $1200 is on the lot. As part payment there has been conveyed 44 Wayland st, near Howard av, to Mr Kupfernan. It is rated at $5900, and consists of a frame house and 33,057 square feet of land.

Papers have been recorded transferring 100 Lawrence av, near Magnolia st, from Leah Paul to Abraham Freedman et al. There Is 5625 square feet of land, taxed for $1700, with a total rating of $6400. Charlotte E. Devlne et al have sold to Katherine A. Calnan, a frame house and 3043 square feet of land, 12 Elder st, assessed for $4900, with $900 or the lot.

WAKEFIELD, Nov 13 The funeral of Rev Charles H. Hickock, formerly chaplain of the Massachusetts Department, G. A. and a prominent member of H. M.

Warren Post of this town, took place this afternoon at the home, Avon st. The services were conducted by Rev Frederic S. Boody, pastor of the First Baptist Church, and Prof English of Newton, the latter having been a classmate of Rev Mr Hickock in the Newton Theological Seminary-There was a large attendance of townspeople and Grand Army men. The Grand Army ritual was conducted by Commander D. W.

McCarthy and Adit George S. Driver of Post 12, with 85 post members assisting. The body was sent to Putnam, Conn, for burial.
