White River, Ont, reporting 42 below zero, was the coldest place heard from this morning. Temperature of 2 below zero was reported from Northlield, Vt, and Greenville, Me, while Id above, at Nantucket, was New England's warmest.

Boston was 10 above zero at 3 this morning, 8 above having been the coldest of the nifrht. The United States Weather Bureau district forecaster, in his office on top of the Federal' Building, predicted that we will have cold weather for at least a couple of days. He expects to see the mercury quite as low tomorrow as was the case this morning. At 9:30 this morning the wind, whicn had been blowing between 26 and 80 miles an hour from the northwest, shifted to the west, which should cause a trifle more warmth during the day.
