If they haven't agreed at a comfortable bedtime they can go to bed and take up the work afresh in the morning." So much had been forecast by Judge Wilson in turning the case over to the jury. He appointed Ernest Beebe foreman, and then faid: "Your verdict will be oral, and you will remain together until the verdict is delivered in court. "The court will come in to receive a verdict at any reasonable hour." Shortly before 9 o'clock the jury came in for Instructions and the court instructed them again as to the difference between murder in the first and second degrees and manslaughter. Murphy, business agent of Engineers' Local 664. Other organizations involved are Firemen's Local 3 and other gas company employes, according to Mr Murphy. According to the representative of the employes, a conference with officials of the company has been sought in vain. Following their attempt of yesterday to meet company officials, the secretary of the Cambridge Central Labor Union decided that immediate satisfaction or action is necessary, and the decision was reached that unless a satisfactory conference Is granted today a strike will be called.

Such a strike, it was stated, would make impossible the manufacture of Illuminating gas in Cambridge. According to Murphy, the company Is employing more and more nonunion men and is Insisting that employes make individual contracts, which the men are unwilling to do. Two meetings have been held by the employes, and tonight there will be a meeting of the executive board of the Cambridge Central Labor Union to decide what steps are necessary. Mr Murphy also stated that today Mayor Quinn of Cambridge will seek a conference with Albert M. Barnes, president of the gas company, with a view to arranging a conference.

Mr Murphy said that the employes will probably take no strike action until the result of Mayor Quinn's effort has been ascertained. Last night Mr Barnes declined to discuss the matter beyond saying that he has "never refused to confer with employes of the company." He said that he Is not aware of the conference which Mr Murphy said Mayor Quinn will seek today. ELEVATED'S REAL ESTATE HEAD DIES Daniel L.
