"Gtizen Kane" WiU Be at the Senate June 25 i By Paul Walker The "Citizen Kane" date you have been asking about is June 25 and the theatre is the Senate and it 11 be shown THURSDAY EVENING at popular prices. JIMMIE LEWIS with a California sunburn was in for a brief chat Jimmie's now the emcee at Jack Greenfield's "Green Shay" over near Lancaster and is raving about the current floor show.

On the billing: The Three Peppers and three girls, Paulette Powers, Betty Mann sings like Sophie and Mary Morris. Jimmie spotted a picture of Irma Wilson, a Ziegfeld girl, on our wall and left with it as a present She used to work in his show in the Paradise, New York, 'way back in 1937. irkirltltit TWO or three years ago we had quite a few pleasant chats with Ann Rutherford on her visit to Harrisburg (we'll always remember how she wanted the type metal with her name on for her curio room; she got it, too) and now we're looking forward to meeting her sister, Judith Rutherford, leading lady of the Gretna Players. The season opens tonight in the Mount Gretna Theatre. The plays is George M.

Cohan's "Whispering Friends." Mary Dees, another motion picture star, is in the cast, also Warren Douglas, Phil Tead, Ralph Chambers, et al. You'll probably like to know more about Judith Rutherford and you will. We'll share the biography, turned out by Dorothy Kennedy cf the Gretna Players' Public Relations Bureau. This is Judith to Dorothy to us to us: V5 Judith Rutherford, leading' lady of the Gretna Players. They open the season tonight in "Whispering Friends." i Orson Welles.

His "Citizen Kane," at the Senate on June 25. tUDITH was born in Holly I wood, California, of Scotch English parents. She is Charlotte Algren (see picture) is featured at the electric piano. a descendant of the noted Scottish minister, Rev. Samuel George Rutherford of Antwerp, Scotland.

She is a granddaughter of Dr, Samuel George Rutherford, who was a member of the British Parliament. Miss Rutherford's father was John Dufferin Rutherford, opera and concert star. Her mother, Lucille Mansfield Rutherford, was an actress and worked in the early silent films, and was a cousin of the late great actor, Richard Mansfield. On the west coast Judith attained fame as a radio star, having played in practically every major serial continuity emanating from Los Angeles. As a child actress she appeared in such stage plays as "Seventeen," "Peter Pan," "Daddy Long Legs," "Mrs.

Wiggs of the Cabbage Patch," "Little Women," and a legion of others. Judith was a featured player with Paramount Studios, and was also under contract to Universal Studios. Later she went over to Metro Goldwyn Mayer, where her sister, Anne Rutherford, is a featured player and a well known actress, and appeared with her in "Four Girls in White," "These Glamour Girls," "Dancing Coed," and "Dramatic School." Last summer she appeared in Milton Steifel's company at Ivoryton, Conn. Last fall Judith was made Mayor of Rutherford, New Jersey, for a day, by his honor, Mayor Martin P. Nelson.

Judith decided to remain permanently on the east coast when she made the trip with her sister Anne to Atlanta, Georgia, for the premiere of "Gone With the Wind," and later when they went on to New York for the second premiere. She liked New York so well, that she gave up her home. The following spring she went to Ivoryton; by this time she considers herself an easterner. Judith studied under the famous Bill Robinson, in dancing, as a little girl, and toured with Fanchon and Marco for several seasons with her own act. While Judith and her sister, Anne, were in Washington last year, they were entertained at luncheon by the United States Senate, a gesture of thanks for making the Cotton Festival of the South such a success.

Senator "Cotton Ed" Smith even flew to Washington with his family to honor them at a cocktail party. Judith was named after Laurette Taylor, the actress. Her real name is Laurette Elizabeth Rutherford. FOOTLIGHTS will be up at the State too, with Count Berni Vici's "Pan Americana" revue as the focussing point What is described as "a mammoth stage revue" is enhanced by an unusual musical combination: an all girl swing band, an electric organ and the nova chord (an electric piano). Charlotte Ahlgren, electric pianist, with the Count Berne Vici stage show at the State.

So much has been written about the other principals that we feel you know them already. Tonight through Saturday. Film's "The Gay Vagabond."
