over WHP. Theatre Guild success just a decade ago and made a triumphant road tour after several months on Broadway. The plot makes no attempt to be deviously dramatic, getting its power from complete simplicity. It is a story Oklahoma when that state still was a territory and was struggling toward ultimate merger with Indian Territory. Author Riggs on several occas ions has explained that he set the characters of the story a wealthy girl ranch owner, a cowboy and a hired hand and just let the story evolve from them.

"Campbell Playhouse" Directojr George Zachary and Orchestra Leader Lyn Murray have planned to follow this theme in the Columbia network production. There will be the unusual ingredientspioneer country simplicity, drama, tragedy, music woven together to tell the story behind a folk song "Green Grow the Lilacs.".
