Premier George in a fighting speech to his Welsh constituents today which was intended also for the world at large- declared that the Government intended to restore order in Ireland by methods however "stern" and proceed with its home rule bill. The Prime Minister turned down i Valparaiso Provides Nothing of the Expected Spectacular Hamilton's Run for Crimson to the United Kingdom, but because crime has been successful." A republic, he insisted, would not satisfy Irishmen, as "Ulster would have something to say to that." Nothing which has happened in the past, continued the Premier, would justify present conditions in Ireland, and after giving figures on the number of police killed, he said: "The police have endured this state of things in a way which is the highest testimony to their discipline and self-restraint. WEBB JR. Seventeen thousand football fans Journeyed to the Harvard Stadium yesterday, keen to witness an exposition of Western football. The eleven from Valparaiso, Indiana, had come East primed to win some intersectional honors and everyone was "set" to see something spectacular. But there were no occidental fireworks. i Valparaiso didn't hold the ball on Harvard's side of the field all afternoon, didn't make a forward pass or a first down.

What it did do was to tackle like the proverbial fiends and fumble. Three touchdowns were made but Harvard got them all and Valparaiso was beaten 21 to 0. Boston College 20, Fordham 0. Brown 32, University of Maine 7. Penn State 14, Dartmouth 7.

A warrant for his arrest was sworn out, and he will appear in court Monday, it is said. Marquard claimed that he had bought the box seat tickets on speculation, giving $275 for what he was offering to sell for $350. Manager Robinson was so provoked when he heard of Mar-quard's arrest he is alleged to have said that he would not give 5 cents to get him out of hock. Speaker cf Smith rf A REAL TEN-CENT PAPER THE great family of Sunday Globe readers discovers this morning that for the first time it is paying for a 10-cent Sunday paper. The Globe has felt for many months yes, for several years that it was giving its readers a 10-cent Sunday paper. Now we are asking our readers to pay for it. We hope, and we have reason to believe, that they understand why it is now necessary to raise the price. When you know that manufacturers raised the price of paper on Oct.

1 to 6y2 cents a pound at the mill, you will realize that publishers do not get nearly enough out of the wholesale price of even the 10-cent copy to pay for the paper alone on which your Sunday Globe is printed. Your Globe today weighs almost a pound and a half. If you have watched newsboys start out from the corner store with their huge mountains of Sunday papers, if you have seen them struggling up and down the street delivering those papers at your door, you must have realized that they were getting little enough out of the five, six and seven cents which you paid for your copy. If you have seen newsdealers sorting the bulky papers on their little counters, you must have realized how little they were getting for their work at the old prices. Therefore, the price to you was raised; so that the newsdealers and newsboys might get more for their labors and so that the publishers might meet the costs which have mounted so steadily for years in every last department of their business.

Advertisers have been paying a very large part of the increased costs, through increases in the advertising rates. Now we are asking our readers to pay a share. We are raising the price of the Sunday edition to 10 cents. But we would not do it unless we believed that the Sunday Globe was truly a 10-cent paper that it was "worth the price."
