News for the most part was very bullish.

A break in the levee at Rosedale, Miss, was reported. and it was stated tha-t this would mean the flooding of many thousand acres of very fertile cotton land. This event. together with the already overflowed lands of Louisiana and other Southern States, and a continuation of unfavorable weather conditions in the Eastern belt, gl.ve the market a decided upward impetus. There was some heavy selling at the opening.

but the market only declined five to seven points and the offerings were readily absorbed. Later a considerable buying movement set in and some of the big interests who sold yesterday were reported to be taking cotton back. The market finally was steady, with prices off somewhat from the highest under realizing sales, but 4'cfS point net higher for the day. South American Clips Attract Some Attention. New High Records Touched by Wheat and Cotton. rrhe local saltation in wool has not changed greatly a week. One or two houses report business a little better, but generally matters have continued pretty quiet.

Cables from London note firmness in prices at the auctions and low and coarse wools have advanced slightly. Western advices report the sale of a choice Utah clip at c. But neither of these developments has had any effect on local prices. The market is still rather favorable to buyers. It cannot be denied that turers recent purchases do not suggest that they are anticipating their needs much.

Recent from Washington indicate a downward revision on wool and woolen schedules of the tariff as possible and manufacturers are disposed to be rather cautious. Shearing of the new clips is now In progress in the more Southerly sections of the wool producing territorY, but business has been pretty quiet in the primary centers. The sheep raisers are holding their wools firmly and the new clips are held at prices that do not offer even a good gamble. Interest is etill evident in foreign wools of the lower types in the local market. Much South African lincolns has changed hands at which prices offer little profit to the sellers.

In demestic wools there have been sales of pounds of XX Ohio wools at 28c, a carlot of unwashed Ohio delaine at Mc and 115,000 pounds of unmerchantable wool from that State at Zic. Fine and fine medium territory wools have been having a fairly good sale, both graded and in original at WulSc in the grease, to cost clean about 052n 53e. Scoured wools find a steady. If not active sale, but little or nothing haa been done in the other kinds of wool On the market. The new Utah and Nevada wools are expected here in a few weeks.
