Aunt Louise Welcome, New Year Louise Foster note) Louise Foster is on vacation this week and doing her column is Jerry Burney, the retail advertising manager. Well, the Christmas dinner is gone and the new year is finally here! This year is the big one for some people.

To others it will not make much difference in their lives. The American public will get another chance to elect a president after living under an administration not elected by the voters. And of course, the nation will have the biggest birthday party the world has ever seen. The folks in Corsicana will have their part in the big celebration as plans are continuing for big events in our city. Well, enough of that, see happening to some of the folks that make up the great Golden Circle.

This season many of our merchants gave Christmas stockings stuffed with toys, but one of these giveaways merits, I think, a special note. Leland Katner of Western Auto had a stocking prepared and this year the winner was young Tommy Wheeler. What makes Tommy so special is that he resides at the State School. picture is shown above now a Christmas. Another nice thing that happened around Christmas was the feast that took place at the Convalescent Home.

Over 150 people enjoyed the Christmas dinner with State Representative Forest Green leading the list of dignitaries on hand. You know, Christmas is sharing and to me the fun of the season. too bad we do these types of things all year round. I am sure that Louise is enjoying her vacation and I know that all of you will look forward to reading about her experiences when she returns. She will be back at her desk on Jan.
