The fire originated in the upper portion of the which is occupied by Makepeace, the photographer, and the chemicals stored there caused the flames to mount high into the sky.

The buildings in the rear, on Province ct, are old and have long been regarded a.3 especially liable to fires, but by hard work the flames were confined to the top uf the theatre building. This building is occupied also by Tay tor, the tailor, and by the Old South barber shop. These places were CAM-aged by smoke and water. In the building directly in the rear are the establishments of P. S.

Phillips, painter, and W. F. Danforth, carpenter. These were also damaged by smoke and water. The fire appeared to be a very dangerous one when the alarm from box 41 was rung in, but tile firemen made very short work of Eagles' Aerie Session Adjourns.
