An al-around smash in grain prices took place today, breaking the season's low record, both for wheat and rye. and for corn and oats as well. Many trades in wheat showed an overnight loss of 6 cents a bushel. Assertions that has eo big a crop of wheat and rye that European Import requirements of wheat will toe reduced 150,000,000 bushels as compared with last year, had much to do with the general downward plunge of prices.

The wheat market closed unsettled, 2 to 4c net lower, with corn to iy2c off, oats fa to down, and provisions varying from unchanged figures to a setback of 25c. Although the wheat market began to waver right at the opening, it was only as the day approached an end that the price shattering grew spectacular. Continued piling up of supplies of wheat in Canada and apparent indifference of European buyers was largely responsible for the earlier downward swing of the market. Then came sudden news that a leading grain company official who has just returned after several months in Europe had voiced a belief that much lower prices would be witnessed A' general selling stampede ensued, and the wheat pit was swept virtually bare of buying except from previous sellers able to snatch back a profit. Quick rallies just at the finish wheat prices more than 2 cents from the day's bottom figures.

The reaction was due to indications that for at least the time being the flurry had been excessive, and that the market was oversold. Corn, oats and rye gave way with wheat. Rve was the weakest grain on the list, December at one time being on. 7C High, low and closing quotations: Namt and rttail prlc on every pair at tht factory. Patent Step-in Pump.
