LYNCH The Villanova College eleven, beaten by every opponent It haa faced this season, made a desperate effort to hold off a powerful Boston College squad yesterday afternoon at Braves Field, but the Eagles, with a varied attack, crashed the Pennsylvanians, 41 to 0. Villanova could do little with the strong Boston College defense, making only two first downs In the game, one through a forward pass, while the Maroon and Gold attack proved too gwift and diversified for the visitors, and touchdowns came rapidly. Many of the Boston College regulars were unable to play because of injuries, but after three scores had been made early in the second period, coach Cavanaugh sent in a number, of subs, and the Eagle eleven was made up of second and third-string players in the second half. There were many scintillating plays in the game, and the effectiveness of the Boston College overhead attack was one particularly bright feature.

The Darling to Wilson pass was worked twice for touchdowns from nearly mid-field, while others also figured in the scoring. The Heights team attempted passes, completing half that number for a gain of 172 yards, three resulting directly in touchdowns and the others placing the team in scoring position. 27 Silk Wool SHIRTS Subs Score for Eagles The absence of Darling and Wilson was easily noticeable In the third period, although the substitute back-fleld of Murphy. Hassan and Hughes worked well, and put over a touchdown after a steady march from midtleld. "Villanova had new lease of life at the start of the half, but it was shortlived, as Duffy soon pounced on Sir-devan's fumble at midfleld, and the Eagles held onto the ball for the rest of the period.

Hassan, Murphv and Hughes carried the ball down the ftld. relying principally on straight bucks. Murphy showed his real ability here as a backfleld man. He was like Harold Ward in hk line plunges, and it was he who finally went over for a touchdown. Villanova put up a stubborn defense in this period, and It took four downs for Boston College to carry the ball from the six-yard line over for a score.

Wilson was right where he should be cvsery time, leaping into the air for passes and eluding Villanova players in brilliant broken field runs. It was apparent from the start that Boston College would have an easy afternoon, although the- play remained Bear midfleld most of the first period.

Villanova played desperately, but lacked smoothness and precision. Only once in the whole game did the visiting players get into Boston College territory, and that was at the start, when Dora recovered the ball on the Boston College 43-yard line, when McXamara fumbled the first punt.
