"Junior Miss" starring Joan Whiting, sister of Margaret Whiting star of Bob Crosby's "Club 15" will make its debirt over the Columbia Network and WHP Saturday morning, April 3, at 11.30 rounding out a complete program schedule broad cast for all round general family listening. Negotiations were completed this week to bring this popular feature, which has been aired on another network, to CBS and its affiliates and it will be sponsored by Lever Bros. At the time of its inception, "Junior Miss" featured the popu lar motion picture star Shirley Temple. Since that time the show has featured and made famous several juvenile stars. "Junior Miss" follows an un usual story line and is designed to be of interest to the entire family although young people find it especially entertaining.

The program will be aired from the New York studios of the Columbia network and will feature a sparkling cast of radio actors. Nevada Mine Is Named After Lowell Thomas To the list of children, places, streets, mountains and flowers named for CBS newscaster Lowell Thomas, a gold mining claim may now be added. Mrs. Harriet W. Foster, of Sut cliffe, Nevada, a housewife who doubles in brass, or gold, as a prospector, wrote Thomas from her "lonely mining camp in the hills of Nevada" that she had decided to name her claim after him.

She explained that radio was Sutcliffes "only diversion" and that she was grateful to the famed newscaster for having given her so many hours of "listening "I hope this time I've really struck it rich, said Mrs. Foster. In addition to the gold mining claim, Thomas already has these things named after him: 1 An island off the coast of Labrador, named in his honor by Commander Donald MacMillan, the Arctic explorer. 2 A street in a Massachusetts city. 3 A mountain range in Antarc tica, 40 miles long and 14.000 feet high, Latitude 77" Longitude 76" W.

Whereami," on the "County Fair" program, (WHP, 1.30 p. m. Saturday) has been found. William Bepko, a 38 year old mill worker of Bridge port, cracked the puzzler last week to win $1500 in cash for himself and $800 worth of CARE packages for needy families in Europe San Francisco was the place that brought good fortune to Bepko. Guessing right on the Golden Gate city brought him the flood of gold that had eluded 22 previous guessers over a like pe riod of weeks.

The lucky, contestant came through with the an swer on the basis of a series of clues given about the city. Bepko, a veteran who saw service with the 45th Infantry Divi sion in Anzio, Southern France and Germany, was in New York on a weekend vacation with his wife, Therese, when the windfall occurred. Asked what he would do with the money, he replied, "It's going right into the bank against possible rainy day." "The Son of Man," Archibald MacLeish's Passion play for ra dio, commissioned by the Columbia Broadcasting System and presented for the first time on Easter Sunday. 1947, will be per formed again this year on Easter Sunday, March 28 (WHP, 1.30 2.30 d. "The Son of Man" was hailed by law and clerical listeners throughout the country for its dynamic, yet poetically reverent treatment of the Story and of the Gospels in whose words it is told. Its performance this year will be offered with the original cast ana producing staff virtually intact, Guy della Cioppa will again di rect the production. The chorus will be especially trained by Rob ert Shaw, the noted young Amen, can choral expert, with Alex ander Semmler conducting the chorus and the CBS Symphony Orchestra.

The play embodies no original text by Mr. MacLeish, but consists of a dramatic and significant arrangement of passages from the three Synoptic gospels, Matthew. Mark. Luke, and from the Gospel According to St. John.
