Fire Damages SP Boxcar generally included in an omer policies. Extended coverage is the pro-tec. ion you get against hurricane, tornado, hail damage, cars that might crash into your home, or falling airplanes. El Paso's fire and lightning key rate is the lowest in Texas, matched on by San Antonio, at 9 cents per $100 with a 15 per cent credit rating because of low fire losses. On a $10,000 insurance policy, about $8 of the annual premium' is charged as fire and lightning protection.

By comparison, Dallas has a 13-eent rale and a 5 per cent credit; Houston, 22 cents and 10 per cent; Midland' 26 cents and 20 per cent, and Odessa, 21 cents and 15 per cent. In the extended coverage rate the insurance commission lowers the boom on West Texas, while the insurance companies reap a fat harvest of premiums and pay out little in loss claims.
