Garry Morgan, a well known farmer living west of Bluffton, is confined to his home in con sequence of injury inflicted upon him by a porker on his farm. The hog ran against him with such violence that one of his legs was disjointed at the knee and the ligaments torn.

The joint was readily replaced, and the torn ligaments are the worst feature. The injured limb is in a plaster cast. WOMAN BREAKS LEG IN FALL. Kendallville, Dec. Dec.

P. A. Pontius is confined to her bed with a broken log near the ankle, the result of a fall on slippery walk near her. home. A physician was summoned and found both bones broken.

She had been visiting hier daughter, Mrs. Tom Stoneburner, nearby, was en route, home when the accident occurred. The injury WHA quite. painful and she will be confined to her home for some time. GIRL DID NOT APPEAR.

Portland, Dec. Because of the absence Fay MeBride, 13, alleged victim of Ed. B. Ruthford, in the attempted criminal assault charge pending in the court here for more than a year, and set for trial yesterday, the charges will be dismissed. The funeral services will be held at the residence this afternoon at 1 o'clock and, burial will be in the Beehtol cemetery. The deceased, had lived during the last few years. with her children. With the exception of a short time in Whitley countv she -had lived in Huntington for the past fifty-five years.

Ben West, of South Whtley, is. dead at her home there. She suffered a stroke paralysis Monday morning, which rendered. her. unconscious and she never spoke or realized anything after that time.

Mrs. West had been an invalid for fourteen years and suffered with rheumatism. Mary Ulery was, born in Montgomery county, Ohio, and was the daughter of John F. Ulery. The date of her birth- was November 25, 1835, making her eighty years and thirteen days age.

Her parents came to Indiana and settled in Whitley county and here it was that she met Mr. Ben K. West, whom she Inter married. PLANS FOR PIERCETON SCHOOL. Pierceton, Dec.

-An all day session of the township advisory board. with Trustee McCarter, was held when iPerceton, Dec. -The town board of Pierceton has passed a resolution to pave. two streets of the town during the comming summer. The lution calls for the paving of First street through its entire length and Market street from First street to Elm street.

There was considerable opposition to the action of the board and it is probable that a remonstrance signed by a number of property owners will be filed later. NEW HICKSVILLE PREACHER. Hicksville, Dec. R. M.

Gordon family are expected. in Hicksville this week from Columbus, 0. Rev. Gordon has accepted the call to the pastorate of the local Presbyterian church. He will have charge of the services Sunday.

WOUNDED IN EUROPE'S WAR. Bluffton, Dec. Mary Lewis, of South Morgan street, this city, has received letter. from her grandson, Jack Evans, who is serving as a second Lieutenant in the English army, and is now on firing line in France. He states that in a recent engagement a fragment of: shell wounded him in one foot, and he had to.

Rumely Company, a $32,000,000 corporation, were sold- yesterday afternoon for $2,500,000 at a. receiver's sale. to Advance Rumely Company, composed of. stockholders, noteholders and creditors of the old company, and capitalized at $26,250,000. The company manufactures threshing machinery and other farming machinery.

The Rumely Products company, the sales end of the M. Rumely company, was also sold, being bought by the Advance Rumely Thresher company for $1,500,000. Chauncey H. Murphy, New York city in the properties for the new corporations. Finley Mount, of Indianapolis, receiver of the companies, will be president of the.
