She married Bailey on June 26, 1976, at Sebago Lake in Maine. She graduated from edar Falls igh School in 1970 and earned both her a degree and a degree in education from the niversity of orthern i owa. She was employed as a sixth-grade teacher with the Waverly-Shell ock School istrict for 25 years, and was a member of azareth vangelical Lutheran hurch, edar Falls. Mathern (1917-2015) a er oo Zelda Voncielle Mathern, 97, of Waterloo, died Thursday, March 19, at Friendship Village Lakeview Lodge of natural causes. She was born June 11, 1917, in Gladbrook, daughter of William and a gnes agen Buck.

She married Leland G. Mathern on Jan. 24, 1937, in Marshalltown; he preceded her in death May 7, 1982. Vonnie worked at ath Packing o. for 28 years in the sliced meat and canning department, retiring Jan.

MIKE ANDERSON mike.anderson@wcfcourier.com CEDAR FALLS The Cedar Falls Food Co-operative will offer a free screening of a 2014 documentary about an American quest to find healthier food options, today at 1:30 p.m. at the Oster Regent Theater. film shows how a family learns to grow together, challenge the status quo and become engaged reads a statement released by the co-op. The co-op launched last October and is in the process of recruiting members.

So far, 119 citizens have become member-owners by purchasing a $200 share of the co-op. Member-owners can participate in the decision- making process behind the administration. They also receive financial dividends based on the level of their participation in the co-op and can take part in exclusive classes. According to co-op board member Tom Wickersham, the goal is to attract 1,000 member-owners over the next two years. The membership funds will be used to purchase a storefront location.

Representatives from the co-op will be present at the documentary screening today to answer questions and sign up new members. Anyone who signs up at the screening will receive two free tickets to any upcoming events at the Oster Regent Theater. According to Wickersham, the co-op plans to bring other food-related documentaries to Cedar Falls in the future.
