While vacationing in Colorado last week, Misses Genevieve and Dorothea Reece spent a few days visiting Miss Janet McRae in Den ver. They were accompanied by Mr.

and Mrs. Reece Bergman and son, Ricky, who visited Mrs. Berg man's brother, Joe Janda, in Denver. They also spent some time in Central City and Estes Park, before returning home Sunday. Mr.

and Mrs. W. G. Harlan and children. Billie and Patty, Mr.

and Mrs. Ray Iwan and daughters Mar-cia Rae and Betty Jalen, all of Bonner Springs, and Mr. and Mrs. Don Younce and daughters, Linda Kay and Debbie Jean of Kan-sas City, visited their moth er and mother-in-Law, Mrs. Pauline Kozlol, over the Fourth of July.

Mrs. Harlan, and danghter, Patty, remained for a three-week visit with her mother. Mr. and Mrs. P.

W. Lakers and son, Tom, returned Saturday nigm from a 10-day trip East. They spent two days in Cleveland, Ohio, with their son, Frater John Joseph, O.F.M., who took his perpetual vows in the Franciscan prder at Holy Angels seminary on July 6. Mr. and Mrs.

John Miller were al so present at the ceremonies In which their sor, Frater Floyd, made his, solemn profession of vows. The two young men receiv ed their Bachelor of Arts degrees in the preceding day. The Lakers thn took Frater John Joseph and Frater Floyd to Olena, N. where they are attending the summer term at St. Bonaven- ture University.

The Rev. Fr. Martin Wolter, former assistant pastor at St. Bonaventure church in Columbus, is also attending St. Bonaventure University and the Lakers spent some tim visiting with him.

SAN FRANCISCO (UP)-A spec tacular four-alarm fire in the heart of San Francisco's North Beach district destroyed the Italian Village night club and the three-story Entella Hotel early today. Seventeen persons were injured, 13 of them firemen.

Most of them were overcome by smoke and exhaustion. A preliminary search of the building, which contained the night club and hotel, failed to turn up any fatalities. Fire Chief George Kelly- estimated the damage at $250,000. TYPHOON CLARA TOKYO (UP) The U.S. Far Pacific military and air defense base of Okinawa braced today fo the battering force of Typhoon Clara which is roaring toward the island with 125 mile an hour winds.

UP WASHINGTON (UP) Business inventories rose in May but still were slightly less than in May, 1954, the Commerce Department reported. Funeral services will be held at 1:15 p. m. Tuesday at the Gass Funeral Home and at 2 p. m. at St.

John's Lutheran church, Shell Creek, with the Rev. Leo S. La Fontaine officiating. Burial Will be made in Calvary cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Gass Funeral Home until the hour of Mr.

Klug was born March 4, 1874, in Abstagen, Germany, the son of Carl and Sophie Peters Klug. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Germany. Mr. Klug came to the United States in 1898 and settled in Colfax county. On Jan.

30, 1902, he was married to Annajvlug at the home of her parents. The couple observed their golden wedding an niversary in 1952. They farmed in Colfax county until 1949, at which time they retired and moved to CQlumbus. He was an active member of St. John's Lutheran church.

Shell Creek, and served as treasurer for 18 years. He also served as treasurer of Dist. 8, Colfax county, for 25 years. Mr. Klug is survived by his widow; one daughter, Mrs.

Frank (Charlotte) Kasper, Columbus; three sons, Werner, Paul and Clemens of Richland; and seven grandchildren. His parents, five sisters, four brothers and one grandson preceded him in death. The family requests no flowers. 787 under age of 21 in Albion school district ALBIOW (Special) There are 787 boys and girls under the age of 21 in the Albion school district, according to a school census Just completed by Pauline Curran. Of those, 537 are from five to eighteen years of age, inclusive.

Among the 787 children, 428 are boys and 359 are girls. The census-taker interviewed 909 families, of which 339 had children. The average was 2.3 children in those families. The Johnsons out-number thw smuns in AiDion, mere oeing is families of 12 each of Nelsons and Smiths, and 11 of Andersons. There are 11 families with five children each; two with six each; two with seven; four with eight; and one family has nine children.

A woman became suspicious when she went into the shop and was told Blades was not in. The woman said another woman had told her Blades was not in but in his statement Sunday Brooks said that no woman was in the shop. Brooks said he went into the shop with Henry to buy some clothing and admitted he struck Blades when the shopkeeper said something he didn't like. In his statement Brooks also said that he slapped Blades again when the old man walked to the rear of his store. Then, Brooks stated, Henry stepped up and punched Blades.

Henry wa3 arrested Friday after he was seen in a cafe with an electric fan, two shirts and a clock. In his statement Sunday, Henry told McGowan he had purchased the items in the shop. He said while he was looking at the items he heard a noise, turned around, and found Blades on the floor with Brooks standing over him. Previously Henry had admitted being in the store but had claimed at he left when Brook3 and Blades got into a fight. Brooks' previously had admitted being on a drinking, spree with Henry Friday afternoon but denied being in the store.

Three men caught in Beatrice supermarket BEATRICE Neb. (UP)-A night telephone operator here was credit- ed with helping police in the arrest of three men who were caught in a supermarket about 3 a.m. Satur-dflv. The operator, Caroline Penner, 20, heard a buzzing on the wire after the men apparently knocked the store's telephone off the hook. She Telephoned police after voices made her suspicious.
